There is a common misperception that continues to propogate

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A CUSTOMER OF AT&T IN ORDER FOR YOUR COMMUNICATIONS TO HAVE BEEN INTERCEPTED.

What AT&T set up in San Francisco was a port mirror collection site, and it links to their IP based network.

ANYTHING, and I MEAN ANYTHING...that AT&T carries could have been redirected to that mirror collection site.

AT&T is SO BIG, and their network has so much capacity, that AT&T regularly, and knowingly resells network capacity to anyone who has a need for such capacity.

A short list of significant customers includes Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Yahoo, plus a thousand other peering partners you may never have heard off.

So, please, in the future, STOP referring to these activities by the likes of Verizon and AT&T as affecting only Verizon or AT&T customers. You need only be a customer of a company that does business with AT&T or Verizon.

All that data has to do is ride their networks. Either as a direct customer or as a customer of a 3rd party who gets their bandwidth from AT&T.

Reminder to Mr Gifford

AT&T's data collection room was in service PRIOR to the events of September 11 2001.

Osama Bin Laden had very very little to do with Warrentless Telecom data collection activities.

This is why amnesty must NEVER be a provision that is allowed to come to a vote.

OR....

If Amnesty is to be allowed, it should ONLY be considered under the cover of FULL and RECORDED disclosure to Congress.

Remember this Mr Gifford, 9/11 had NOTHING to do with the initiation of warrantless data collection activities of the Telecom industry.

Speaking of pre 9/11 data caollection.....

And if I were Waxman and or Rockefeller, I'd be prepping subpeona's right now for Naccio of QWEST as well as any and all pertinent memo's detailing contracts and requests for data that NSA submitted to QWEST communications starting in 2000 and into early 2001.

If the fix was in for the 2000 election (plausible), then, the prep work may have been in place to launch the Cheney/Bush efforts at expanding powers of the executive office well before the votes had even been (officially) counted.

This isn't new, not in the least

Grateful dead and associated as well as like minded artists have been...more or less...giving their music away for a couple generations now. The Dead taping section has always been packed. And tape trading boards exist all over the world.

In the RIAA model, the artist makes a pittance off of the sale of a CD. They get a nifty signing bonus, get locked into a contract, loose all distribution rights and sometimes ownership of their creative product and then a few pennies for each CD sold.

The Dead made hundreds of millions of dollars TOURING. THAT is the money maker.

The free/cheap online download distribution model DOES work, you just need a good product that appeals to a wide base and the music will sell itself.

This model, however, doesn't work for the Hollywood formula type, ala Britney/J'lo blah blah booooooring, that's because the music isn't really the product, the music is a the hook, the product is the stage presence/dance moves and fan gear sales.

The download distro model works, when the music is good, unique and appeals to people. It's been proven to work for a couple of generations now. Where have the rest of you been...(oh, never mind, prolly at the Britney dance extravaganza...booooring!)

Gee...He makes him sound....

Kinda like Bill Cosby. Is the Coz a sellout too?

I too don't always agree with how America is classifying groups by skin color. I think it helps to divide us.

Eventually, can't we all just be plain old American's and just apply law uniformly?

LOL...who the hell am I kidding...there's billions to be made by perpetuating these meaningless distinctions.

It was never about who won or lost, and you're being disingenious

Since pre and exit polling are the ONLY tools available to the public to check the accuracy of an election, and since pre and exit polling were BOTh terribly wrong about the actual official outcome, this recount request was absolutely the CORRECT course of action.

What was not found, was evidence of fraud.

(it wasn't even being considered by those on the inside, only by other disingenious bloggers)

What WAS found:

A shoddy chain of custody for the actual ballots.

A SoS who did not seem to care (or understand) about ballot security.

The State does NOT have possession of the memory cards, a BIG no no.

Enough MISCOUNTED ballots to justify, by NH law, a full recount at taxpayer expense.

You are in over your head Farhad, and you really really need to talk to Bev Harris for a true education in ballot security and election integrity. Because of an unverifiable chain of custody, this election in NH has ZERO integrity.

I tried to post this, but don't want ABC to have ANY information about me

You morons at ABC must not realize that the MAJORITY of working class American's don't CARE that Bill got a blow job.

We just want REAL jobs.

Using that 8 year old crap to smear her publicly is an insidious reminder of just how sleazy an organization you are.

You can expect a significant boycott of your worthless news organization as well as a major letter writing campaign to every single sponsor who supports you in this endless string of disgusting and juvenile smear attacks.

I hope you enjoyed your silly headline. Brian Ross' job is now the target. As is your revenue.
