Those placing Godlike expectations on Obama, and there are many, were doomed. Only God can live up to those expectations.
You never sounded like you had reservations about Obama until now. Rather than admit you, too, were in the clouds, you claim you never were there.
The fog has lifted and those who voted for him see he is seriously inexperienced.
Everyone was warned.
Should anyone be allowed to stand on a bus? Isn't this a safety issue, not only for pregnant women? All public transportation should have "No standing" policies, especially buses that stop and start frequently and have to deal with heavy traffic.
You are right. We all have stories. The other day, I saw a woman with 2 very small children in a grocery cart. I was about to enter the store, but held it open for her when she was about 20 feet away. She did not smile, she did not say thank you. She just plowed right through.
It should be a two way street. No doubt she thought she was entitled to have someone hold the door open for her because she had children.
When you encounter this sort of thing frequently, it becomes more of a fact.
@Unbelievable Bastard,
You are the only one with the nerve to say it 'the way it is.'
Yes, Mothers, these days, do act with entitlement. For some reason, having a baby deserves a bow or curtsy in reverence from friend or foe. Whenever around them, conversation is none other than their child. They become boring and not everyone thinks their child is cute or does cute things.
Many Mothers become so selfish, they can't think beyond how wonderful they are for having a child and that everyone should think so too.
I never heard pregnancy called a disibility deserving a seat on the bus. While it would be nice to offer a seat, I would not hold it against anyone who didn't. They may have problems more legitimate than being pregnant. If you want a seat on the bus, then I suggest you don't take the bus. Yes, you became pregnant, so don't expect special treatment, then you won't be offended.
When many animals are becoming extinct, our forests cut down from human overpopulation, some of us care about that. When I see three, four kids in a family, and another on the way, I am not about to say 'How Wonderful!'
All of this just shows that this administration is seriously inexperienced or incompetent.
When they look like they don't know what they are doing, which is pretty much of the time, it doesn't help our confidence that they can govern the United States of America.
@Docinpa:
"My, she sure seems to rile up some lefties. Well, guess what: Her supporters include some reasonably intelligent people (including myself, with degrees in nuclear engineering, biology and medicine). You all can decry her as a retard and fraud all you wish but for many of us she speaks to our detestation of high taxes, big government and suffocating regulation. And because you guys are doing NOTHING to fix unemployment (which would require that the above three items be addressed in an effective manner), you are going to get nuked next year. And if it stays high, The 'Bamster will also get nuked in '012. So, please, keep calling her names. It only makes her stronger."
Well Said!!!!
I don't think she's currently seasoned enough to be President, but I commend Docinpa. All of the Palin bashers deserve this.
While I don't think Sarah Palin is President or Vice-President material, I don't understand the hate towards her, just as I didn't understand the love for Barack Obama. Both are very strong emotions normally not expressed for political figures. Shouldn't we examine these feelings? Doesn't it say more about ourselves than the other person? When emotions are overly expressed for any person, don't we need to be concerned?
The only thing I find distasteful with Sarah Palin is killing animals, especially, endangered Wolves, but then, that goes for anyone killing Wolves, not just in Alaska, but in the lower 48, which is going on right now.
Other than that, from the outside looking in, I find her likeable. Since we really don't know her, how can any of us be valid critics?
All I know, first 42 inch LCD, Energy Star by the way, increased electric bill by $15 to $20 per month. Part of that is the cable box, which I hear is an energy hog, as well.
I don't need heat in the bedroom. LCD is a heater. It heats the large room so much, I am thinking of a portable air conditioner to supplement the central. That means more energy use.
Two LCD's equal $30 to $40 a month increase in electric bill.
Using an electric usage meter, a 27 inch CRT TV cost $2.80 per month, on about 12 hours a day.
How would all of you GM bashers like to see our military drive around in Japanese cars?
How would you like to see our Presidents ride around in Japanese cars?
See "Car and Driver." They like American cars.
All of you bashers are hurting American car sales.
Stop it!
The majority of US Citizens are Christian; therefore, majority rules. Usually, minority rules. Thank you to anyone using the word Christmas.
I am appalled by the Christmas bashing. It's very unreligious for any religion to bash other religions. I don't see Christians doing that.
