It is absolutely rich of you to claim that Obama has made unforgivable compromises while you assume the facade of "Hillary supporter". Hillary made plenty of compromises that were unfortunate from a Democratic perspective, and made some chilling pronouncements including hawkishly threatening to "obliterate" Iran.

But like any patriotic Democrat who cares about the country, I would still have voted for her over McCain, even though she is not perfect and not my first choice. Because the alternative is evil. The country, and the world, simply cannot afford four more years of lawless Bush-like rule.

Any true-blooded Democrat who cares about this country knows what 4 more years of Bush-type raping of the country will mean.

It's NOT OK to enable the bankrupting of the economy to make the rich even richer and complete America's transition to a serfdom.

It's NOT OK to rush into misbegotten wars, hundred-year occupations, pour out our treasure and blood to fatten the war profiteer buddies of the GOP, diminish our ability to defend ourselves at home and abroad, and further cheapen our world presence.

It's NOT OK to toss the environment to the tender mercies of the captains of industry who will ravage and despoil without any thought other than their profit margin.

It's NOT OK to eviscerate the Constitution and rule of law at home and abroad, to degrade our nation to that of a banana republic headed by an unchecked strongman and his henchmen and which commits the worst crimes that the civilized world has sworn to stop.

It's NOT OK... and those who don't vote for Obama are signing up for the final plunge of the knife into America's heart.

In a perfect world, the campaign would be about the issues.

That all went out the window when McCain started using images of Paris Hilton and Moses and actually started to get traction.

Yes. It's sad. But I don't want our country to suffer another four years of Bush-surrogate because the best candidate was "above" the rough and gut-punch politics. I'm glad Obama has decided to throw down, but sad for how politics can't be about the things that really matter.
