Original article: Climate-gate!

Maybe the melting Arctic

Cooled things down a bit.

Discussing different ways to handle data that doesn't fit a theory is not "hiding" it. We already know the last decade has'nt warmed up as much as expected, and everyone is glad. Scientists are working to understand why the Earth did not warm up as predicted.

Is it the lack of sunspots? Billions of gallons of Melting ice in the sea? Evil spirits?

Discussing ideas, and dismissing some as improbable isn't hiding evidence.

Breitbart the Pimp

Thats who these hacker-denialists' remind me of.

I daresay the scientists discussing deleting email were aware that the mail was being backed up, and stored. Just about everyone in the world who has a computer knows "delete" doesn't mean what You Think It Means.

. . . And ANOTHER thing!

I repeat to the dunderheaded deniers:

The Earth's Oceans have warmed up quite a bit. The measurements are thorough and accurate.

The Earth's surface is 5/7ths OCEAN.

If you really believe the temperature of the Sea won't affect the temps of the land, well, by all means buy yourselves sea-level beach front properties.

Original article: Climate-gate!

The Deniers

are trying to twist and distort or outright lie about the facts of what the scientist's emails were about.

THEY are changing the data to fit their theory.

Original article: Climate-gate!

The emails show

that the Scientists were trying to amend (change) the already proven theory of global climate warming with the FACT that this last decade has had little change. (tho it looks to me like the oceans are REALLY warming up, even if the continents we humans live on (2/7ths of the Earth's surface, by the way) hasn't warmed much.

They were NOT trying to change, distort or deny the FACTS.

Using Scientific Method, surprising, puzzling, and even unwelcome FACTS are not ignored or denied.

The theory is changed, not the data.

And thats what the scientists were talking about in their emails, not how to "spin" or "deny" the weather facts of the last decade.

Perhaps President Obama is AFRAID

- after the horrors of the Bush Administration, and God Knows what Cheney did, or what landmines they planted for Obama to step on, and the almost Total corporate Control of America, one could understand Obama wanting to retain all the power he can.

Doesn't mean it's right: I hope the courts kick Obama's ass good and hard. But I think he must be plenty SCARED.

That illustrates exactly why

FOX and Clear Channel, all the "Hate" radio & TV are scared to death of the possible return of the Fairness Doctrine.

And the Fairness Doctrine ought to be brought back, and strengthened.

How about

Howard Dean?

Projection with a Broken Projector

"How is it that someone can suggest/advocate that and look at themselves in the mirror while shaving?"

They CAN'T– that is why they "project" constantly on their opponents. On Us.

Oh, I don't know-

"...when people look back at this period in American history, it will be difficult to comprehend what happened in the Bush era...

I think most of the cause (or blame) goes to our Corporate Run "Media" who spew nothing buy lies lies lies 24/7/365 (366 on Leap Years). Of course FOX is the worst, but all the other networks, and tragically, PBS too, have been taken over by the self-proclaimed "Elite".

Media monopolies should be broken up ASAP (After Public Health Care is implemented and our economy explodes -in a good way!). And then Publicly Financed Elections to remove the blatant bribery of our Elected Representatives by interests inimical to "The People".

It wouldn't solve ALL problems, but it would be a good START.

Sunday, August 23, 2009 12:08 PM

Oh, is that so?

"...it's impossible to believe in constitutional principles and the rule of law without being "extremist" and even "absolute" because that is the nature of those guarantees..."

Except for the 2nd amendment. THAT Constitutional principle actually means much, much MORE than is actually written down!

Original article: Harry and Louise must die

Harry & Louise would have a big impact

-if they were shown using a wheelchair and/or walker, maybe with an oxygen tank & mask? Show their medicine cabinet, or table covered with pill bottles, all the stuff older people end up using for their various illnesses.

I agree with Remarque 150%

An immediate expansion of Medicare & Medical, an increase in Social Security payments, and hiring of more Civil Service (Dept of Forestry, NASA etc.) would cause an immediate (and long-term benefits) improvement in our economy.

These things *Could* be done relatively quickly, if the President and our DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED CONGRESS would get of their purchased asses, roll up their sleeves and WORK.

Well....Maybe....

Former VICE Pres Cheney transferred, stole, a lot of the Presidential Power for Himself & his cronies. Knowing a Dem would win the 08 election He could have really really fu[kd up the Presidential office. Obama may not have as much power as we think; the Federal Agencies are Infested with the Worst-of-the Worst. And the President's priorities are obviously not what we think they should be. Certainly he seems to be leaving the DOJ to do whatever they feel like doing. Machiavellian or perfidious? I hope the first.

I know It's wishful thinking, and I strongly advocate we teh people keep pushing and pushing.

As for Piece'O Kook: SSPPPPFFFFTTTTTT to you. (and I mean it to sting!)

If contraception becomes easily available, Inexpensive & safe

....the number of abortions will plummet, the anti-abortion fools will probably drop along with them.

But they don't want that. They want the attention, the drama and feeling of self-righteousness, and ABSOLUTELY the violence. It is a road to power & wealth for people like Terry, and it gives other "protestors" a feeling of importance, an ego-boost if you will.

When I meet anti-abortion persons who have adopted unwanted, sick, handicapped or brain-damaged children or babies, (and I have) I honor them, I donate money if its needed (and it usually is). They have my respect.

The rest are just there for the fun of it, unlike the women getting the abortion. She has and is suffering.

In the mean time, abortion clinics will have to become little fortresses, the providers anonymous. And perhaps a fund should be set up to enable women to go overseas (Europe) for the abortion. I'd contribute to it.
