"The joke is on all the people who voted for him expecting him to ditch the old guard CFR, bankster, Israel-first deathgrip on America. The same CFR and Bankster globalist cabal that annointed him and elevated him to the position he is in."
...and Salonistas are blaming Zee Choose.
This is going to be fun. Get out the popcorn.
"Probably the energy source of the Fourth Republic will be nuclear"
You wish, but now that Democrats have their supermajority, large-scale energy sources will be back off the table. Instead, Obama promises us a fifteen percent cut in electricity consumption. Once most of us are out of work, that will be easy to achieve.
The author this piece is the creepy Cambodian kid who hung out in the back row of his poli sci classes at the Sorbonne, waiting for political conditions back home to give him the opportunity to return in triumph as...Pol Pot. This one hopes that Obama will bestow upon him the chance to eliminate American individualism.
Individualism is what pulled people from all those villages in places as far away as Kenya to bring them to a new continent where they might better themselves. If Kamiya thinks Obama is going to do his bidding on this one, let's all pray that he's mistaken.
"It is not really communism (in its failed or any other form) or socialism (ibid) or persons of a different color or capital gains tax hikes they fear. What they really fear is the singular certainty of life: they'll die. They'll each (just like everyone) become irrevocably, indisputedly and insistently dead. "
Wow, really? So what happens to you people? Do you become one with Gaia, or do you come back as a dolphin?
Airlines were the first US companies to get federal bailouts in the current cycle of financial crisis, and we all know by now that they used every taxpayers' dime to cement their grubby grasp on the flying public's jugular. Their complete lack of any form of customer service leads to fewer flyers, which the free market punishes, in due course, by bankruptcy. In a rational economy we would let them liquidate, auctioning off their assets to successors who treat their passengers better, bringing Americans back into the air again.
Unfortunately, we no longer have a free market economy. We have Bailout Nation, in which the bad airlines are allowed to "reorganize" and go right back to sticking us with their random fees, cancelled flights, filthy aircraft, silly rules, bait-and-switch websites, and engrained surliness. We need to allow bad airlines to fail in the way they should, which means completely, and we need to strip them of their anti-competition privilege.
Pilots are not being irrational when they vote for pro-cabotage candidates. As the only remaining airline employees with actual brains, they realize that treating passengers better will result in more passengers, which will mean more employees hired to serve them. If Singapore were to allowed to fly between American cities, other airlines would have to shape up to survive.
"What we need a new Manhattan Project to find new sources of energy that is international in scope. This would be a real dream,"
...and it already produced the energy source we need. Obama needs the resolve to tell the old hippies to go fuck themselves, and that we're going ahead and building the energy infrastructure we need now.
"I look at Sarah Palin on TV and I see in that arrogantly stupid face everything I despise about Bush, the Republican party, and our culture in general. She makes me want to vomit, and I cannot see living in this country with her at the helm."
A babe who shoots wolves doesn't need anyone's pity. We're just about to kick off a four-year Six Flags ride of socialism and hyperinflation. As we of the dark side relax in exile, Sarah will be out there keeping liberals' feet firmly held to the dogsled warming fire. Of course you love to hate her now, but after the National Health Service turns down your kidney transplant because it's your duty as an over-50 fossil to die and make way for the cheap-labor young, you'll be secretly e-mailing her your story and hoping she will bring it up in the 2012 campaign. By the time your son is drafted to fight the Vryboer Resistance in South Africa, you'll surreptitiously send in your last few gold krugmans to the Palin campaign.
Pity, hell. This is going to be fun.
"If We'd Forgiven The Terrorist Nutjobs
Maybe we wouldn't have pissed away a couple of trillion dollars fucking around in Iraq. I don't know if forgiveness is good for your soul, but it certainly would have been better for our pocketbooks."
So next time there's a terrorist attack, our response will just be to kill huge numbers of Muslims with standoff bombardment, suitably impressing them with our ability to retaliate. This would be have been far cheaper than our years-long adventure in sending ground troops, and politically popular in the wake of a terrorist attack.
We have chosen to fight the hard way because even a low probability of creating another Japan makes even a couple of trillion a worthwhile expenditure. And the world cannot blame us for not having tried.
Does this newfound respect for research mean that you're no longer going to rip up our GMO test plots and burn our labs? Can we expect actual consistency emerging on the left?
