"The daily cheerleading for the Obama's disastrous spending proposals, along with the daily oh-no-ing about the plunging stock market, is what they call a "disconnect." The one is directly responsible for the other."
Although I'm on the dark side myself, I believe in giving discredit where it's due. It was the Republicans who ladled out the first trillion in bailouts, money given away to the bad guys who created the mess in the first place. The Republican bailout builds absolutely nothing. When Obama spends his trillion, at least some of it will go to creating infrastructure that we can actually use, like power grids and rail lines.
The IRS is the cancer of history. But of course she didn't, because liberals are not supposed to criticize that sacred organization.
...But what we got instead was the same old Democrat moonshine. When Obama left Yucca Mountain funding out of his new budget, he sent the message that we're going to go on letting Asia snarf up the remaining fragments of our industrial base. More power to them! We have told the world that we don't want jobs ever again.
Warmists may want to regale themselves with this analysis of their faith, by Japanese researchers:

"Hotter Earth = more evaporation (what happens when you leave your clothes out to dry) = more precipitation (like SNOW)."
Hmmm - not long ago, at the height of Warmist zeal, we were being lectured to that a warmer Earth would inevitably be drought-ridden.
Junk science - isn't it a hoot?
"Wow, there sure are a lot of uptight wussies out there."
Seconded. Remember when liberals were in favor of sex? I suppose that was before their women defined anything that men liked as being Evil. Anyway, I once knew a woman who had a lactation fetish.
"The furor about the Post's cartoon has administered a booster shot against intelligence. The only person to allude that Obama was a monkey was Al Sharpton."
It's okay, we get it: call a Republican chief exec a chimp for eight years running - standard procedure. Use one chimp reference in a cartoon referencing a Democratic president, and they go full Muslim on us.
"It isn't like they can simply install a spigot that can be turned on an off, it is designed to be a permanent surgical alteration."
Not so - they actually can install a little spigot.
"Our house got a horrible clog from me putting onion skins down the disposal.
Too fix it, they ultimately had to tear up the entire front yard and replace the old steel pipe."
Is a "rejectionist" anything like a "denialist"?
That it's WW II once agin, and it didn't just start with 9/11. We had better get serious about fighting it.
...by putting the hot sauce in his condoms before> he uses them.
The stock market, after some initial stumbling, reached new highs under Clinton. And because the Republican version of the stimulus, forking over an ocean of cash to the bad guys without creating a single job or building a stick of usable infrastructure, only made their part of the Crash worse, Obama has the opportunity to use his marketing talent to sell an improved version: concentrate on one national goal that would capture the public imagination while bringing investors back to the table.
My suggestion would be a ten-year national program, starting tomorrow morning, to make America energy independent. This does not mean just having Washington build everything. While stimulus funds could be spent on the common-carrier infrastructure that this would require, using the legislative function to rip aside legal barriers to energy investment everywhere is even more critical. Let the solar panels bloom, let oil and gas be drilled for offshore, and free up development of every energy source in between. We are a creative people, and an energy-led jobs/market boom is not only exactly what we need at a time like this, but would be good for the whole world.
Obama, make this your Apollo.
"salon would be lost without Gov. Sarah Palin. There aren't any other women they can treat in such sexist, derogatory manner."
No, but they could easily fall back on calling Thomas Sowell a chimp.
"Remember to Spay and Neuter your teenagers."
You jest, but now that the gummint owns everything, it won't be any more difficult for it to seize our genitalia without a trial than it is to seize any of our other assets.
And folks, thanks to all for turning this thread into an unexpected reading treat: a catfight between angry, emasculated ex-husbands who live in the Super 8 by the airport and pre-suicidal feminazis who majored in Vaginal Domination Studies at Vassar.
"You're kidding yourself. Coal accounts for over one half of electricity generation in the US. And as bad as it is mining it it's less polluting than Uranium, which accounts for only about 20% of US output. And we are not going to run out of coal any time soon."
Dead wrong! Coal-fired plants emit 100 times the RADIATION of nuclear waste (plus the well-known CO2 and other pollutants), let alone the homeopathic traces of radiation nukes release into the environment. Coal plants have never had to comply with a radiation standard, as nuclear has from the beginning.

" how the hell did our society deteriorate to such a point that making oneself into pornography and sending it to boys was a common and acceptable passtime for young girls? Is this the path to the presidency, to becoming a CEO, to having real power, authority, and influence in the world? Or is it just the path to an illusory "power" which is really nothing more than sexual manipulation ending with feeling somehow used and discarded?"
This makes feminists, what - Baptists without a softball team?
