Original article: John McCain's female card

@ Brian - Seattle

Was raised by a single Mom, poor, working class parents in Pennsylvania, worked their ass off to succeed and raise a family, rode home on the train every night to raise his sons after his wife and daughter got killed....

but ADD

Knows about foreign policy

Knows how to inspire people

supports women and women's reproductive rights

doesn't support McCain Non-universal health care, war for 100 years, tax breaks for the rich, unregulated corporations, tax breaks for oil companies policies

That's where they'll go. Obama and Biden.

That

@ cdevlin

Then you're an idiot. If you are a woman, you are an idiot to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.

McCain voted against the Violence against women act (which Biden authored)

McCain wants to overturn Roe V Wade - (so the 12 year old incest victim would be forced to have that baby - fun!)

McCain voted against a measure that would require insurane companies to cover prescription contraception

McCain voted against against equal pay for women

McCain voted against a proposal to expand tax credits for businesses that provide quality child care centers.

McCain voted against increasing veterans health benefits 4 different times

McCain wants MORE tax cuts for the rich - and MORE tax breaks for oil companies - who have already made the biggest profits in history

Oh yeah - what a GREAT leader. So let me reiterate - you are a fucking idiot if you vote for McCain. Especially if you're a woman - even if you're not.

Cdevlin - what are you talking about???

First of all, the issues I listed that McCain voted against are fact, you can look it up anywhere - and if he's electied that is exactly what you will get. He will appoint 1-3 supreme court justices, and he wants them like Scalia and Alito.

Your answer had nothing to do with what I said. If those things McCain is FOR is up your alley, then go ahead and vote for him - but please stop calling yourself a feminist.

"And the democratic party is as guilty as the republicans."

Of what? Taking away women's rights? No they aren't.

"Only we've all been guilt-tripped by threats over how abortion rights might be compromised."

It is not a guilt-trip or a threat - it is a fact that these will be eliminated by McCain

"They knew that abortion is too often a cover for male irresponsibility and the fact that women are fundamentally unsupported in a man's world. And that extends to reproductive issues. As long as the only option for "reproductive rights" is to get rid of a fetus, male politics will continue as usual and women will always suffer for it."

That the hell does this even mean? Male irresponsibility??? So what does that have to do with givin women a right to choose???

Also, the only option is not getting rid of the fetus - it's about female contraception with McCain does NOT want insurance compnaies to have to pay for. Did you read ANYTHING I wrote??

"Women always lose in a male-centric politics. Younger women (and men) are too keen to align themselves with the power brokers, and that also means that men will call the shots and that women will be kept in line with one sort of threat or another, and now, historically, and with the recent politics of the left, that means strictly over reproductive rights."

Again - I didn't JUST list reproductive rights. And second of all, Palin is even MORE anti woman than McCain. But it is NOT a threat - it is a fact. McCain is clear where he stands and so is Palin.

So you'll just take ANY woman?? No matter what she stands for (or against) Smart. Seriously - what will McCain do for you?

I love the trolls!!

They keep the letters section from just preaching to the choir and it keeps us on our toes to better to be able to argue our position.

She Won't Pull any New Votes

that's the bottom line. She's an extreme right-winger and this will all come out. Her stand on abortion - none in ANY circumstances - will turn many people off. Even pro-lifers will make an exception in the case of rape, incest or if the life of the mother hangs in the balance. And if the hard core Christians stick to what they preach they won't vote for her either. They think a woman should stay at home with the kids.

@ revere

McCain said he "could see himself in her."

Um, I think we know what he meant by that one!!

Again, No Need to Worry

She won't pull any new votes, bottom line. She's a right-wing extremist and will only shore up that base.

So everybody can shut up about that one.

Ahahaha!

This cracks me up. Good job, family values, no contraception, no help with daycare assholes!!!

And there was NO "CHOICE" involved here. There was/is nothing noble for Palin having her baby or her daughter. There is no choice, therefore no moral conflict. And definitely no choice because Palin doesn't belive in choice.

Palin believes there should be NO abortion under ANY circumstances. So even if having this baby would result in her daughter's death - there would be NO abortion. Even if her daughter begged for her life, her mom would just have to tell her to STFU and take it - nice knowing you.
