Where's your disclaimer Joan??
[Read the article: What Pennsylvania tells us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]In another column Walter Shapiro argued the same talking points expressed by you, Pat Buchanan, the Republicans, the racists and bigots within the Democratic party and much of the media who seem to be just reveling in this white woman black man smack-down.
I've watched MSNBC frequently and I've never heard you, in your many appearances there, say one fair word toward Obama. And anyone who believes that farce of a debate on ABC was fair, as you claimed it was, is either a Republican or a Clinton supporter.
So, that said, why can't Obama close the deal??
OK let's play Joan.
1. Why is Obama ahead, OVERALL?
2. Why can't the omnipotent Team Clinton duo themselves `close the deal against one unknown silly but hopeful black man?
3. Why can't this one hopelful African American suddenly overcome the racism and bigotry still prevalent in every state in our union and beat the crap out of two white powerhouses?
4. Why can't this woman, on her own merits, stand against Obama and win Joan?
And lastly,
5. Why is it that, in spite of Team Clinton and their supporters -and the media's - claims that (a.) the Jews, the Hispanics, the Asians and the whites won't vote for Obama and (b) despite the now obvious racism and bigotry within his own Democrat party and (c) despite polls from numerous sources, like ARG, KDKA, Quinnipiac etc., in January and February showing Clinton with a 20 point lead in ARGs and KDKA's case, or in Quinnipiac's case - a 52%-36% lead for Clinton in Pennsylvania and (d) most important of all ---in spite of Team Clinton throwing every vicious bit of garbage out of their kitchen sink, Obama managed to increase his lead in Pennsylvania by 9 points since February.
And in spite of Chris Matthews favorite "hometown girl" advantage, and the weight of the Rendell gang, and Team Clinton throwing their best shots at Obama since early January/February - Clinton's margin only increased by 3 points.
In spite of everything Joan, he still cut her lead in half.
But, if we all will now stipulate to Clinton's point that there is a certain amount of racism and bigotry in the Democrat party and in Pennsylvania and in America, here's two questions the Super Delegates and every voter -including you Joan -better ask themselves to judge who is the best to lead this "on day one":
1. How much of Clinton's 10 point "victory" can be attributed to just those bigoted voters?
2. Does any candidate deserve the Democratic nomination, in particular, and the White House if his/her margin of "victory" came from just the bigoted voters?
Because of the insensitivity and cruelty shown to others, especially within her own party, I can never vote for the Clintons.
They no longer represent the core beliefs of the once great Democratic Party I remember and don't deserve the honor of returning to the White House.

Chris Matthews, you are such a loser.
[Read the article: Top Dems consider intervening in race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This MSNBC host has more faces than 'Eve'.
He especially, but others as well, continually blast Obama as having failed because he can't win the "older generation". A critical group of voters in their minds.
(They also blast him for the lack of women voters -while a woman is his chief running mate?)
But Matthews just slapped his own sister network's show Deal or No Deal for having had the lowest ratings ever (because Bush was on the show) in what Matthews face #7 today calls " the key demographic group" of 18-49 year olds. That's his "big Number for today.
Matthews never mentions Obama has won that exact demographic group -in every primary and in every caucus.
Those 18-49 year olds not worthy of mentioning in Obama case, are very crucial for the success or failure of a network's income, as well as the success or failure of the American and world economy.
He better damn well consider them the next time he blast's Obama unfairly. His own job may well depend on it.

The Clinton's are dead to the majority of Democrats now..
[Read the article: Clyburn hits Clintons on tactics]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The omnipotent Clinton duo -these two 'bastions of the Democratic party -have not been able to close the deal against Obama, further proof the days of old - are over.
But it's the visible hate seen in Hillary's face towards Obama, and the campaign tactics used by both of the Clintons that now validates to many of us much of what the Right used to say about them. And blowing a hole in Hillary's wall of a "Right-wing conspiracy."
The duo have made chillingly clear how far they're willing to go for the sake of power. Which almost guarantees the destruction of any support she thinks she might get for another shot at the nomination, or for her own Senate re-election.
Ironically, she'll end up only with a minority of Democratic hard liners, similar to Bush's minority of hard liners.
Which now puts the entire country into a useless state of stagnation - to equal that of Congress.
Good job Hillary!
