What if you're not looking for a relationship?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Since I'm not interested in having a relationship, I don't really have any deal breakers. As long as I find a woman attractive, I couldn't care less what books she reads, TV shows she watches or music she listens to. If I did, I'd never find a truly compatible person, since most women don't like the same stuff I do.
In addition, smart guys know that many women will use any of the above information as an excuse to not have sex with them -- though they don't seem to have a problem accepting free drinks and meals from that same person. I've learned over time to reveal as little as possible about my politics/religion/literary tastes/hobbies/etc. to the women I'm dating. Sometimes it's unavoidable, but I never offer that information without being asked.

And by the way Eleanor, have you ever heard of Lucille Ball? Granted, she wasn't that hilarious either, but she was doing "ugly comedy" on television more than 50 years ago. Get a clue.

I have read a few of your comments and I think you're hot (intellectually).
It's a good thing you clarified your statement with "intellectually" or else Bob might have come to the false conclusion that he had a real chance at becoming romantically involved with you. But that's not really the case, is it? (At least, not until Bob provides some evidence of his true hotness.)

I think you are a bit confused. Caring about sex and caring about women are two completely different things. But I do believe that for the best results, guys need to pick one or the other. (At least in the USA)

Sorry to be the grammar police, but this one is a pet peeve of mine. Since one can only only rehearse something before the act there is no need to add "pre" before it. I'll spare you the entire George Carlin routine, but you should check it out if you've never heard it.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm in the ranks of those who believe that dads who abandon their kids, or who won't marry the mothers of their kids, are themselves "adult children" who Peter Pan-like "just won't grow up". It's hard to say what can be done about this, but a good place to start would be to stop glorifying immaturity and loserdom, and stop making it sound cool to be a womanizing jackass (well into your 40s).
And what about the women who just can't wait to spread their legs for these "womanizing jackasses" and pump out a whole new generation of losers to bitch about. Maturity is a two-way street, babe. Maybe if women showed a little more wisdom when it comes to picking sex partners, they wouldn't be stuck raising their precious crumb-crunchers with a deadbeat dad that is never around. If you choose to fall in love with a loser you have only yourself to blame.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]To understand better, look at the way a cat on the hunt stares at a bird or a dog that doesn't like cats stares at a cat before giving chase. It is the predator stare. There is nothing friendly or sexy about it. It is the equivalent of violence unmasked. If a guy stares at you but doesn't really look like he likes you much, chances are that he doesn't. Rape is a crime of violence as much as it is a crime of sex.
That all may be true, but it doesn't change the fact that staring at someone in public is not a crime. I suppose that is why you changed the subject to rape by the end of your paragraph. How clever.
Some men want us to ignore this fact in courtship rituals. They want us to have sex drives like men and be available to them as they are available to us.
And some women want men to have the same sex drive as them. Big deal.
That is unlikely to happen. I don't even think it should happen. When men stopping raping, then women will be able to afford to be more open to men in most encounters. Until then, that won't happen. Women have every right to but their own best interests ahead of the desires of men.
Speak for yourself, lady. Fortunately there is an endless supply of women in this world who are quite willing to "be more open to men" without making ridiculous, arbitrary ultimatums that will never come to pass just so they can rationalize their smug, superior attitude. Any man willing to put with that crap is a complete loser. Get over yourself.
