  • pressure and fear

[Read the article: I'm a single woman in Pakistan -- will I ever get married?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

When I was 30 I felt that it was time to move towards marriage.

In my 20's I was oblivious to it and did not pay attention. Then there was

a sudden transition to nowness. I want marriage and family in my future. This

did not not happen for me until I was 38.

To want marriage and realize you are not married creates an emptiness, a void

of not being married. Knowing how difficult it is too break up with a women if

I found out she did not really want marriage, I stipulated what I wanted up

front before tieing up my time and emotional investment in the person. I easily

found several relationships that did not work even within that framework. Knowing that

I will be middleaged, starting later I did not want to find out that I had let too much

    time slip by.

With the final relationship that did not work out, my social worker suggested

a book to me called "getting the love you want". The author's name escapes me at the

moment. The book went into the purpose of relationships in how we are seeking a part

of ourselves that is missing. Our partner is someone who we will work out our lessons

    with. Someone to learn with.

The pakistani woman's plight is way more intense than mine. I was delayed by needed time

in my 20's and 30's to pull things together for myself. I had fertility working for me

as I am heading towards my 40's. A woman has a shorter time to get the natural family

started. This woman has done a great job developing her professional skills and yet her family

life is lacking in her mind.

Fear mixed with the pressure of the Pakistani society only increases the fear. Then the fear itself

creates the reality she so desperately does not want to have. The question becomes how can this

woman focus to bring in the reality that she wishes to create. She has created the fear exceptionally

well. Should she chose to, she can create and believe in the possibility of her family life.

Reading the book above did help me get the love I wanted. Getting the wrong women for myself worked all

too well earlier. Not really knowing what I had done, I set out the belief of what I wanted in a

relationship and the person for that role that I needed showed up.

I wish the very best for this very bright woman in Pakistan. I would be curious to see how she is doing

    later down the line.

  • Its about the power

[Read the article: Will Bush and Gonzales get away with it?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

George Bush senior did his darndest to thwart Iran-Contra. And was admittedly

quite successful at it. There are all kinds of rumors of ties of the CIA to the

Bush family. Morality would pretty say lets follow the law. The Bush administration

has not done that. They are about power and control. Any law that they don't like

has been so far successfully ignored. Christian morality would teach us to respect

all humans. This administration could really care less about this issue. Power and

control comes first. That is why we are in Iraq, why the president outed Valerie Plame, why he ignored the secret court surveilance act, and many many other behaviours not discovered. My hat is off to Mr Cronin in standing up for what he believes in. The Bush administrationis headed down the same path as the Nixon adminstration. Shame and disgrace.

  • Is this really good strategy?

[Read the article: When cowards attack]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

With the country 60% against the war, this to me seems to be an uphill battle for the republicans. More and more republicans are becoming disatisfied intensely so with this administration. To their detriment, this party quite bullheadedly pushes forward. Jack Murtha is just really a distraction from the real issues. Which is what Carl Rove is also good at. He is able to frame the fight in which the opponent gets stuck within and has to talk about. But then common sense isn't being used in the republican party at the moment anyway. Should our fight be about "cut and run" or should it be about "Useless waste of lives and resources". By fighting in a war a lot of ugly things take place. I would rather fight terrorism than be fighting in Iraq.

  • growth through honesty

[Read the article: For his sake, fake it like you mean it!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The simple fact of just accepting reality isn't that hard. I learned to let go of my wife's performance and it is entirely her own experience. This can be done from from a view of love for her life. To be in okness with whatever happens for her is the ideal. To fake it is to never have these kind of moments. To grow out of the insecurity of sexual performance and to accept each other without judgement. Weldon's way locks the relationship into no movement with no progress in growth and change.

  • I find the negative comments come from missing spirituality.

[Read the article: Oprah's ugly secret]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I have had the priveledge of spiritual experiences lately. The reason for mistrust of Oprah and the authors of The Secret is your lack of spiritual experience and your belief in it. My transition into feeling and trusting spiritual experience was in some ways rocky because it was so new.

I am an ordinary person experiencing some extraordinary stuff and someday in the future what I am doing will just look ordinary. The people of the Secret are on the right path. There is extraodinary power and energy within the spirtual world and how we tie into it.

It does not surprise me that there are so many negative comments. I invite the doubters to look into the spiritual world. There are snake oil salespeople in this realm out to take your money and energy from you in a con. And yet in the genuine thing it is phenomenol. A lot awaits you in your experience for those willing to step in.
