As a lifelong television viewer I was taught long ago that what is shown on the tube is not always real. This is something that I have tried to pass on to my own children. However, it seems, that no one has bothered to point this fact out to Justice Scalia. It may have a basis in fact, but it is make believe.

I can only wonder,since there was no coverage, what the other international Judges and attorneys thought of his invoking of a fictional character's, actions in reguard to the rationalization for the justification of torture.

What I see with all of this,is that the DLC people are still entrenched within our party. I really don't see that much will change. In fact I view DLC Democrats as nothing more than good old fashioned Rockefeller Republicans; which is no real way to moderate Bush conservatives. No to Hillary, No to Obama, Edwards maybe, Dodd maybe, Biden who knows. I want my party back. Not a bunch of half-baked DLC Democrats who go along to get along.

Get used to the disrespect, it's going to hit you from all sides. The politicians are going to use you and walk away. Your friends will feel sorry for you and then tire of you. The anti war crowd will use you as an example of misplaced priorities and lastly you will become a lost sole with only self comfort and self loathing. I have learned over the years not to get invovled in a pissing contest. I, however, think this one is worthwhile. Not because you(Glenn)will win or that you will change the minds or attitudes of the FPC. Still, your arguements must be made so as to keep the reality in front of the people. This country is based upon "We the People". These serious people are thinking of the other saying "Huddled unwashed masses" a root cause of their serious belief that they know what is best. The rest of U.S. are just annoying lapdogs to nip at their heels and get under their feet. The one underlying problem with their move to empire is that the primary tool, the American Military will not much longer support that imperial policy. Not because they will rise up and mutiny, But, because it is right now crumbling under the weight and force of the task already assigned.

After reading Wittes excerpt from Febuary. I can't help but think that it was his report from Bagbad. His statement I've been inside the super-duper secret court rings of the hollow sound of "I've been there, have you? Therefore I approve. I agree Glenn it is these serious people that we should be paying attention to.

A "Stinging repudiation", Jeeez Joan, That was more like an "ooops". The Mickey Mouse editors were duped by a political operative. It was all Zelikows' fault because he didn't tell them who was paying his freight. The reporters over at ABC are too busy lining up for the daily parade to actually do the work a reporter should do, like find out WHO they are talking to. While I agree that it was necessary for ABC to mention Zelkows' conections. We can't stand by and allow the traditional media to brush off or marginalize their incompetence.

I would like to know who in the world is still manufacturing lead paint? I know why it is used in paint,in exterior paint it stands up to the elements,it has bright shiny colors that are atractive and appealing. But while lead was removed from paint in the late 70's. The awareness, data and debate started long before that. It wasn't until the late 70's that political demand caught up with consumer demand and lead thus was removed from paint. So my question is, who in the world is still manufacturing this poison?

During the cold war our military and civilian leaders constantly ran and re-ran scenarios for wars(nuclear holocuasts). I am surprised, however, that such plans are now being openly debated. And rationalized, as though these confrontations are a foregone fact. We as a nation are not only being taught to fear, But, taught that we must kill "them" first. We are now poised to move beyond the schoolyard bully to the status of international "Jason".How sad.

I think that we have learned that more than just one in four gay or lesbians voted for Georgie Boy. There was Rep Foley. There was Sen Craig. There are probably a whole bunch of closeted Homosexuals(self loathing?)who supported him then and still now. So this whole exercise in which republican candidate to support is just one big jerk-off. Those who are still in the closet will continue their charade by voting against their own best interests. Sort of like a dog licking the hand that beats him.

While I can see why we should all be outraged. We still need to face the fact that the Democratic Party is filled with those DLCers. They are why and how we lost the house and senate for years. They will continue to drag us away from the true roots of the party. But hey, she is at least serious.
