Another great post, Glenn. I recently heard a discussion about how we've (us 'mericuns) have alway kind of fooled ourselves with high talk about how righteous and noble we are, and all the while any objective evaluation of our actions reveals that we act just the opposite.

I don't know about anyone's credentials, but I don't know of anything that is much more fundamentally american than my Boy Scout merit badge, Citizenship in the Nation. By the time you sew that one on your sash you have a pretty thorough understanding of the fundamentals of how this nation is supposed to work. I guess that, and growing up a baby boomer in a small southern town kind of instills you with some pretty lofty ideas about being an american, or rather an American.

My dream these days is that somehow we could have enough power to impeach Scalia. THAT would be something. A great START.

BUT - tonight they were repeating that Pew garbage about how opinion about the war is changing now that "things are going so much better", and I'm thinking:

IT'S THAT F***ING PROPAGANDA AGAIN.

It has been a true education to see how smoothly they changed the subject, post-surge noise, to the economy, so now the news of the war is buried on page three and people are fretting about $4.00 a gallon gas.

So - No more money to NPR. I think I'll send that $100 to the ACLU.

Here is a glaring example of how the MSM is working hand-in-hand with the Neocons to divert the nation's attention away from their failed war.

I look at John McCain, Lieberman and Graham and I think that if the American people are stupid enough to vote Republican then they deserve what they get.

At this point, given the evidence, any nation that cannot find a way to rally a majority against the madness of our current situation, and the future that McCain espouses, then God will reward them with the misery that they deserve.

That may be a naive way of saying it, but I would vote for ANYONE who will promise to take us in a different direction. McCain IS NOT THAT MAN.

There are just so very many cases where McCain has totally flip-flopped on the issues, and I know I don't need to enumerate for this crowd. Surely that and seeing him hugging up on W would be enough to convince anyone? Will someone please give me a link for that photo? I need to recharge.
