Keep hammering. I have my senators' and rep's telephone numbers programmed into my cell. I call on a daily basis. I tell the poor interns who I am and I can hear them sigh. Then I let them have it. No vulgarity, just clear and cold anger, and contempt (they're all rethugs). We are right. They are wrong.

Here's why that matters. My friend keeps her TV on FOX. She still has a W sticker on her car. The other day she went into an ignorant rant about "left-wing" this and that. I suggested that she contact her Representative. She didn't even know who that might be. (Rethug Sue Myrick).....

I remember being so distraught over Watergate, thinking that I was the only person in the nation who cared.

So today, I have faith that we will prevail.

One other thought that I wanted to mention, relating to Glenn's previous about Anonymous Source Reporting. I think one reason they insist on anonymity (or however you spell it! DUH) is because they are LYING and don't want to be held accountable for their lies.

Did I not read that 150 people died in one bomb the other day? That's progress? Please.

As I see it, this blog (and Glenn) comes the closest to expressing MY points of view about this whole big-ass mess.

Anyone with half a brain, that had been paying attention, knew full well that W was a lightweight and that he was just the "frontman" for the PNAC crowd. Again, I refer all readers to the Project for a New American Century website. There are so many "smoking guns" there that you must read it. Their Statement of Purpose (or manifesto of beliefs, or whatever the hell you want to call it) is scary. In it, they clearly state that we should use our "might" to shape the world to our purposes. Read it. Check out who signed it. It was issued ten years ago.

Then read the letter to President Clinton about Saddam and WMDs.

Also of interest is Cheney's debate with Edwards. Remember that?

We is deep trouble here friends. All of the right wing chatter about how we need a terrorist hit to "wake up the democrats" should be viewed with extreme alarm. Like I said earlier today, anyone who doubts that the radical extremists among us would kill innocent Americans to make their point is fooling themselves. Think of Eric Rudolph, the Atlanta Olympics bomber. He is allowed, in fact encouraged, to spew his anti-abortion hatred and propaganda from a prison cell. In his mind, and the minds of many many others, his actions are justified by the perceived end - no more abortions (legal, that is).. The "shoe bomber" is shackled and blindfolded so he can't "eye blink" messages to his sympathizers, yet Rudolph spews and spews and spews.....

Maybe the "need" for another attack to "unite" the nation and demonstrate the "error" of those of us who inexplicably voted for the quisling appeasing "democrat" party, is why Cheney made several "unnanounced stops" in his most recent swing through the mideast.

Here's how we'll know:

If there is an attack against the White House, or Congress, or if Cheney himself is targeted, then we'll know it's the terrorists.

Anything else will be cause for suspicion. My guess is that it will be the "Democrat" party convention, OR one of the debates. They'll use it as an excuse to declare martial law and "postpone" the election.

Please?!!! "stands little chance"??? Getting rid of Cheney should be Job Number One for everyone who loves this nation. He has just about ruined it for us as it is. PLEASE read the crap that he spewed over at the Project for the New American Century. PLEASE read the letter that they sent to Bill Clinton, in 1998, and understand the paranoia about Saddam's WMDs. PLEASE get this man outta here.

I was blessed to be posted to NAS Sigonella, in Sicily, in late 1968. My friends and I travelled a lot, and often found ourselves in some very tiny villages as we changed buses or trains. To say that we were venerated, particularly by those whose memories of the liberation were fresh. Sometimes it was embarrassing as people literally crowded around to see and meet us. Sure, we saw signs of dissent, particularly as the war was raging in Viet Nam, but most treated us like kings.

Today, these memories only fuel my rage at what has been done in my name.

I have said it before, the candidate who wants my vote is going to have to spell out a clear and concise plan to punish these people. I've got ten thousand dollars that says a few waterboarding sessions and Libby would be spilling his guts. And why not? We should do unto them as they have done unto others. Any lingering notions that we "liberals" are soft and fuzzy, or into "flower power" and that garbage need to be dispelled. There are a lot of really angry people and we need to let "them" know. I have my senators' number programmed into my phone (Chambliss and Isakson). I call them on a daily basis so they know exactly where I stand.

Sadly, this will never happen.

Whatever Bill Clinton did or did not do, that was six years ago. I think we'll be a hell of a lot better off when we start worrying about what TODAY'S president is doing (or not doing) and quit making comparisons with the past.
