I agree, and usually I do that.
Some of the posters here though do strike me as legitimate, AKA has been a regular here and does appear to feel disrespected, as do a few others that I think are the real deal and their concerns are genuine. I won't bother listing all the others that strike me the same way.
There were a number of real psychos in the run up on both sides whose only intent was to be offensive and sow trouble. They were the "operation chaos" types. For the most part, they appear to be gone now.
Someone renaming an old Dem's name into a slur should have been cue enough.....
I wasn't meaning to imply anything about your particular vote, though you seem to be one of the consistent ones in your beliefs, and that's said as a compliment.
On the topic of third party votes, it could also be argued that Clinton was also elected the first time due to drain off of Bush votes to Ross Perot.
Personally, I hope that Barr gets a ton of the Ron Paul supporters votes...and maybe that will shake up the Republican party a little bit from their authoritarian leanings. I can dream, can't I?
there will be no investigation into what transpired. Because it's over, no need to dig into old wounds, it was a "painful" period, let's get it behind us, we need to wind down this war, fix the economy, etc.
So guys like Yoo, who are further emboldened and radicalized, can be trotted out in another 4 to 8 years and do worse.
There were a number of Iran Contra figures involved in the fiasco that is the Iraq war.
I would argue that's Clinton's lawbreaking was investigated, quite thoroughly. He was impeached.
I found a quote, that isn't attributed over at wikia
An unenforced, arbitrarily enforced, or unenforcable law is *worse* than having no law at all, because it diminishes people's respect for the law in general.
It is newer and focuses on the War on Drugs.

Your post reminded of something that made me laugh...
They are pedantic?
After discussing something in depth and serious, with a coworker with whom I agreed with for a change, I used the word pedantic to describe an old professor.
My coworker went off on a rant that "pedantic" shouldn't have bad conotations. He lectured me for a full 10 minutes on the topic.
They can push the idea that Lieberman is reasonable and serious all they want, just like they can say that Bush is an easy going, down to earth guy.
As the polls in Connecticut show, the public's not buying it anymore.
Joe, just so you know, neocons like you are one of the main the reasons I no longer identify as a Jew.
That makes me sad. Just like it makes me sad to think that Hagee could define Christianity.
I bothers me in the same way that faux patriots have coopted the flag, so I feel that I am sending a message of support of Bush and the war when I want to fly one at home.
Nader himself turned out to be an egotistical gasbag more concerned with feeling smug about his own righteousness than anything else...
You just summed up Lieberman, though he did expect to be elected, and with the help of the worst Republican candidate ever managed to do just that.
Also it was mentioned up thread that Guiliani has been speaking up lately. I don't think the McCain camp could even be that naive as to think he would help them. The guy was not half as popular with the Republican base as the media wanted him to be and multiplies the failings of McCain in the religious conservative base.
McCain will need to have a socially conservative VP to fire up the base...one that also is a hard core corporate America kind of guy. If Romney was had only been a Baptist, he'd be okay, that is if he rescinded his past tolerance of gays.
It's funny. I see what you are saying about Arab Americans (and it's also true with Persian Americans) but in these groups I'm seeing a bit of change.
One Iranian friend (a fellow engineer, also conservative as a group) was explaining to me awhile back that while he is was always personally opposed to the concept, he now sees gay marriage as a civil rights issue and supports the idea. You could have knocked me over with a feather. Most of his family agreed with him, especially the younger ones and the few that didn't kept to themselves but just mananged to look huffy.
Being a target of intolerance can sometimes soften your views...which also explains what the one poster said about their elderly Jewish relatives being the more liberal family members.
You also have to add in a large group of people that want to vote for the winner...to be on the winning (popular) side.
This ad tells the undecided voters (not the legitimate independents or 3 party types, but the ones that just can't make up their minds and yet still manage to vote, that the Obama camp is the "popular" camp.
What's funny, is the people that get creeped out by liking the popular stuff are more likely to be liberal and this won't send them to McCain, even if it bothers them.
I don't see this as that hard hitting.
