It's not honor
[Read the article: "It is my judgment"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Libby had been pardoned he would no longer be able to claim the 5th if asked to testify.
This "elegant compromise" (to quote CNN) is the best of all worlds.
Scooter's legal fund will more than make up his fine and I expect he can make as much money, if not more, on the talk show circuit than he would have as a lawyer.
Scooter will be fine.

KO's message
[Read the article: "Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Even though Keith may not have the same number of viewers as FOX, many are reading his word's here on the Internet and will be watching him on clips on sites like C&L. His message is being spread as we speak.
How many people watched Stephen Colbert's performance live at the Washington Press dinner? Very few. I didn't even know he was going to be there and I was a fan. And what Colbert said wasn't reported on the news until much later AFTER the video was a huge hit the web. Then everybody on the MSM just dissed it and said it didn't need to be reported.
People that have never seen Keith's show and message are learning about it through places this. It will be heard.

In defense of KO
[Read the article: "Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"It's an entirely different story when one is so obsessed with hate toward another human being that they can no longer be objective about the things that come out of their mouth."
If you are a Bush supporter, I understand that you might not understand the feelings a majority of people in this country now feel for him, let alone Cheney.
But, if you want to see obsession, just mention Clinton (Bill or Hillary) to anyone you know that calls themselves a conservative.
In fact, many a Bush supporter carries the obsession with Clinton to the extreme whenever ANY transgression of Bush is pointed out. Within two sentences, the phrase "But Clinton...what about that?" Bill O'Reilly showed a enlarged picture of Chelsea Clinton in a regular top with a bra and a chill in the air (yep, there was a hint of bumps visible) and showed it to compare Chelsea's "outrageous" behavoir compared to Jenna Bush's escapades and both should be more circumspect. Yeah, right.

RW talking points
[Read the article: "Even Richard Nixon knew it was time to resign"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Besides the "Clinton did it", the other one that one these guys tried to slip in was "It was Scooter's word against Tim Russert". It could honestly have been a slip-up type thing.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
It was Scooter vs. 9 other adminstration members, including people in the V.P.'s office, the NSA and the State Dept. and Ari Fleischer.
The conservative judge said the evidence was conclusive.
Another talking point is that this was Dem overreach. It was a Republican prosecutor, Republican judge, 2 out of 3 conservatives on the unanimous appeals court ruling, referred by a Republican Justice Dept. and brought about by a complaint by the CIA when all branches were controlled by the Republican Party.

Snape
[Read the article: Harry Potter and the prediction pool]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I believe that Snape is really a good guy, in fact that it wasn't Harry's mother that managed to save him as a baby, but it was something Snape did. That's why Dumbledorf trusted him no matter what.
As for who dies, my bet is Hagrid and Neville. They both will sacrifice themselves for Harry making it very hard for Harry to deal with.
I agree that Harry may lose his magic skills and may be forced to become a Muggle.

Southern Democrats
[Read the article: It's finally time for Bush to answer questions about Libby]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Democrats like Strom Thurmond, Trent Lott?
Elephantman, you're smart enough to know that most of those segregation loving Democrats left the party and went where they were much more welcome. Where was that? Hmmm?
-
Teenager's lack of knowledge.
[Read the article: Boost in Plan B sales]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I agree that many teenagers are clueless.
I was a volunteer at a youth shelter and we were discussing "safe sex". One very street wise 16 year old girl (pregnant with her 2nd child) said she ALWAYS practiced safe sex.
When questioned, she thought safe sex was anything but anal...thus she was at no risk of getting HIV.

Honest Tea?
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey, I just had one of the teas with Opus on it...lightly sweetened peach. Just like you lik.

Civil Rights Inevitability
[Read the article: A Southern, and liberal, Lady]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You need strong, dedicated grass roots activists to push for something, but you also need strong aggressive leaders in government willing to use their political power to get a law enacted. You can respect both without disrespecting either.
The Equal Rights Amendment was very popular and an easy win when it was introduced. Some would have said it was inevitable. And many of the women at the forefront of it deserve credit for pushing the issue.
We now know that it wasn't inevitable at all...

All or Nothing
[Read the article: A Southern, and liberal, Lady]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Anybody who would dismiss the struggle of American civil rights heroes...."
Nobody I see is "dismissing" them. It's not a zero sum game, you need the heroes on the ground and politicians to enact the laws. They both get my respect.

Are you serious?
[Read the article: It's finally time for Bush to answer questions about Libby]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Elephantman, are you truly saying (with a straight face no less) that the U.S. never involves inself in other country's business and/or politics?
Are you saying that our newspapers, pundits, etc. (right, left AND center) never would dare comment on who would be a better leader of a foreign government? Or who should be overthrown?
As for the KO argument, when Bill O'Reilly used to go off regularly on something Bill Clinton did, was he wrong to not be going after worse instead, like Kim Jong Il or some other crackpot, evil dictator? Hell, Saddam was always worse than Clinton, but during the Whitewater investigation and subsequent hearings I don't recall "Saddam as bad as Hitler" being the topic of RW journalists, they covered Clinton.
