[Read more letters about this article: Here]"but I think Oblomova is also not kosher"
Yeah, Oblomova showed up right on cue to make Obama supporters look over the top.
The only people that this kind of infighting helps, lean to the right side of the spectrum.

Impotence
[Read the article: Saudi Arabia goes old school]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What the witch is accused of doing is making a neighbor impotent. Because age, stress, cancer, etc. couldn't possibly be the reason for the man having difficulty getting it up for his wife...it has to be the strange woman down the street. Good grief.

@A Billion Angry Bees
[Read the article: Saudi Arabia goes old school]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't think that CanuckistanBob was defending the killing of women for witchcraft, just pointing out that there are people in this country (and Europe) that see vaccinations as a plot, a money making scheme for the evil pharmaceutical companies, dangerous, etc. that may eventually cause some problems in this part of the world, too. I've heard a number of these otherwise intelligent people argue earnestly that HIV does not cause AIDS, hygeine does, thought they don't manage to somehow blame the Jews. Earnest "belief" does not make it a fact.
As for belief in witchcraft, an engineer I know was explaining to me why I was naive not to believe in the powers of witchcraft. He knew a man that left his wife of 20 years and their 3 children for a hot young 21 year old. A couple of years later he went back to his wife and everyone in his church was relieved that his "bewitchment" by the "evil" woman was over. She was blamed for the whole thing, he was not held accountable at all.
Again, this case is about a man with an impotence problem, someone NEEDS to be blamed for this, the strange single woman is an easy as target as any, especially if she's widowed (or worse, never married) and doesn't come from a "good" family.
I find it disgusting and sad.

Not a big deal
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on Clinton ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't see the sexism here. I've seen some, Chris Matthews and many of the RW blogs, but it's incidental. She will continue to be dismissed and attacked as a candidate by Obama because they are in opposition to one another, not because she's a woman, and when she fires back, it's not because he's black.
Off topic, on people attacking Obama supporters for their cult of personality love, that doesn't always disappoint people, just the ones that don't "get" it.
I do not see the support of Obama as overly worshipful, it pales in comparison to the feelings of R's (and many, many independents) to the mythical Reagan. Things weren't that great under him but if a poll were taken today, he would still be viewed very favorably.
JFK inspired that kind of devotion, too.
I've never been capable of that kind of support, but it doesn't mean I can't like them. I liked Edwards, Dodd and Richardson better (let alone Feingold, but he didn't run), but I'm beginning to lean towards Obama. Hillary would get my full hearted support over McCain.
I'm getting tired of the victim card, let's leave that to the poor oppressed white male Christians who are constantly under "attack" in the alternative world of FOX news. Maybe some day a white male Christian will finally be able to successfully run for President in this country....

Media narrative
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on Clinton ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Sexism is alive and well in America and the media."
I think it's more that a media narrative is alive, right or wrong. It's still BS, but not necessarilly sexist or racist.
John McCain is a maverick, a straight talking independent guy. Yeah right. Double edged sword though, conservatives now don't think that he's conservative, despite his voting record.
Obama is a nice charismatic guy, never talks policy, just "hope". Not true, but what the MSM focuses on, policy talk is boring.
Hillary a strong, evil, say anything, type of woman. This hurts her with some, but also paints a picture of a hard, competent person that has some appeal. Double edged sword.
Edwards and Huckabee were/are marginal, fringe guys, that have little to no support. Not true, they just were covered by the MSM that way, regardless of their standings.
GW Bush, a native Texan, rancher, down to earth, good guy. Likeable...now why aren't the Republican's running ads showing themselves with the oh so popular Bush?

Some supporters
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on Clinton ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]of both Hillary and Obama would only be slightly more tolerant of either candidate if they were actively campaigning for the other one, instead of fighting for the highest office in our country.
There seem to be a few that would still try and demonize them.

Amusing sum up
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on Clinton ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Over at Firedoglake they have an amusing sum up of the election that is pretty darn funny and accurate. Too bad it's a little sad.
http://firedoglake.com/2008/02/18/campaign-2008/
Here are a few excerpts...
4. No matter what is said, it clearly implies that your candidate is a racist and/or sexist, probably both.
5. Your candidate is too black, or not black enough -- or too manly, or too womanly -- all at the same time.
6. Your candidate's supporters are clearly worse than my candidate's supporters. It sure seems like they start most of the baseless criticism -- as opposed to my candidate's supporters' worthy concerns.
7. Your candidate is like McGovern.
8. And also like Nixon.
