I guess GBT didn't get that you were being sincere. I guess in his mind that you tried to be nice means you are obviously a weak, sissy, liberal white guy who secretly resents people of color.
The fact that none of those things are correct (except the liberal part) won't dissuade GBT.
Derbig, thanks for the LOL about the third set of boxers.
@bayswimmer, to be fair, since Bill Clinton has been the only Democrat to hold the Presidency since the 70's, any Dems that have experience in the Executive branch will have ties to the Clintons.
There might be a few survivors of the Carter administration, but most of them eventually had ties to Clinton, too.
Let Martin lose by 60 points.
And if Martin did lose, do you honestly believe that the Dem leadership would credit the netroots?
The explanation would be that many voters that supported Obama didn't come out and vote when Obama wasn't on the ballot.
The Repub leadership would say that conservatives came out in droves to repudiate the Dems having control and this is a mandate for Repubs to go harder to the Right. The last is what they glean no matter what is happening.
I can't stomach supporting Chambliss, but that being said, I just ignored the request from the DFA to help Martin with a donation. They probably should have put that request out yesterday when I still had a little hope left.
Hmm. I don't know enough of Holder, but this is interesting.
He became deputy attorney general in 1997 under Janet Reno and was viewed as a centrist on most law enforcement issues, though he has sharply criticized the secrecy and the expansive views of executive power advanced by the Bush Justice Department.

What I find creepy/disturbing is the comments following the article. The nutjobs are coming out of the woodwork.
The proponents of Prop. 8 were good in their marketing and good at hiding their religious objections to gay marriage to the general public.
They didn't rail against the gays, they argued that teaching 1st graders about homosexuality would be wrong. Because we all know that when we talk about marriage we have to describe all the sexual acts that might be performed. That's why I don't want my grandkids to know about my marriage, especially the 4 year old. /sarcasm off
It's a BS argument, but it worked for many and the No on 8 people ran a pretty defensive campaign, not a proactive one.
I already know a few people that are now embarassed they voted Yes on 8. It sucks. In a couple of years, you may be hard pressed to find a majority of people that admit to ever having supported Prop. 8.
Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Pat Leahy, D-Vt., and Senator-elect Jeff Merkeley, D-Ore., spoke against allowing Lieberman keep the Homeland Security and Government Affairs post. Reid, Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and John Kerry, D-Mass., were among those speaking in his favor, according to a Democratic aide requiring anonymity to discuss a private meeting. Some, like Iowan Tom Harkin, still harbor hard feelings for statements Lieberman made during the campaign.
Hopefully. a newly elected Franken will be just as happy with Joe.

Worse, Reid is echoing an argument he knows is false: That this is only about retribution. Reid and his fellow Senators have made the political decision to leave Lieberman in a job that he was a disaster at, rather than make the good governmental decision to remove him for the good of the country.

It's official, I was so worried.

Per TV, the Dems just let Joe keep his chairmanship.
Now that the R's are moving further to the Right after their losses (example, Cantor replacing Blunt) how far will the craven Dems have to go to be seen as "bipartisan".
Maybe we have to expand the GWOT to a ground war with Iran, we wouldn't want to piss off the neocons, would we? Maybe we need to outlaw abortion, we wouldn't want to annoy any social conservatives. Anything less would be "divisive".
In the beginning, the Twilight books were only available in the young adult section. They were a light, pleasant read.
Comparing Twilight to Buffy the Vampire Slayer is like comparing Hannah Montana to Amy Winehouse.
They both can have their appeal.
