Way back when I attended the University of Iowa and Grassley was in the state legislature, he was making a big stink about how there were paintings of naked women in the Art Department's collection. You can't really go wrong by pandering to your base.
I don't know about Ghana in '74, but I was in Iceland when they switched sides. That was May or June of 1968. Sunday was the day to go out and practice before the Monday morning traffic jams.
Good points, wonkazoo. What did the pilot do in this situation, anyway? Leave and take a taxi to a hotel or on to Minneapolis? There must have been a way to exit the small plane, stairs or not. And there's hardly any tarmac traffic at the Rochester airport, even during the day.
My favorite Sawyer moment was when the show was in North Korea and she was doing an on the street interview about the average person's opinion of us. These two small, thin ladies pretty much expressed the expected party line. Diane started in on how wealthy we are, everyone has cars, we eat steak and lobster until we almost burst, etc. I don't remember exactly, but the ladies responded something like: "We don't give a rat's patoot about how rich you are! And 'BLANK' you and the horse you rode in on."
I see (and hear) more than enough fags on any weekend with nice weather to ever want to watch them on TV.
