Issue that launched his career

Way back when I attended the University of Iowa and Grassley was in the state legislature, he was making a big stink about how there were paintings of naked women in the Art Department's collection. You can't really go wrong by pandering to your base.

Crew's resposability?

Good points, wonkazoo. What did the pilot do in this situation, anyway? Leave and take a taxi to a hotel or on to Minneapolis? There must have been a way to exit the small plane, stairs or not. And there's hardly any tarmac traffic at the Rochester airport, even during the day.

Goodwill Ambassador

My favorite Sawyer moment was when the show was in North Korea and she was doing an on the street interview about the average person's opinion of us. Diane started in on how wealthy we are, everyone has cars, we eat steak and lobster until we almost burst, etc. I don't remember exactly, but the ladies responded something like: "We don't give a rat's patoot about how rich you are! And 'BLANK' you and the horse you rode in on."
