Whee!
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]1) Maybe Breathed is using Opus as a metaphor for the Obama faction and is making an observer's comment. (Maybe.)
2) Whichever Democratic candidate receives the nomination will have to be very proficient in using the offensive tools portrayed here. The Repuglicans aren't going to go gentle into that well-deserved night, good or not.
3)What's wrong with Cathy? Middle aged women deserve some sort of voice. And heaven knows middle aged Irvings do.

Um...
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What? Focus, people. Focus.
-
Whoa!
[Read the article: City of lost children]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Guys, where did all this cynicism come from?
-
Three cheers for...
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...Breathed and balitwilight.
It's been curious that, from the beginning of the campaign, the "black" has triumphed over the "white;" yet, until now, there's not been a single smidgen of 'why.'
Let the dialog/games begin!

Wow! 439 and counting...
[Read the article: I was wrong about Wright]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...since this will be read by, probably, no one, and since I haven't read all the other 439, so I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, I'll venture this: WTF is all this "Reverend" crapola? This guy is certainly not revered by me. Ol Jerry Wright is wrong on this, and he knows it. Without a nearby skirt to hide behind, he uses the "black church," whatever that is.
Wright is losing whatever respect he might've earned; those who revere him ought to rethink that, too.

The "Why didn't you when it could've made a difference" gripe
[Read the article: Scott McClellan: The beatings continue]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This gripe is especially amusing when it comes from the likes of The Grey Lady who sat on a report which could've made a difference in an election...

Another Nixon Joke on Us
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wasn't it under Nixon that the balkanization of Americans started? Maybe that's why he was smiling.
-
Um...
[Read the article: Tin-eared at MSNBC]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Senator Clinton had my vote in February. Senator Obama will have my vote in November. Olberman didn't seem to be hard on Mrs. Clinton; since when is the age of a live-in my business?
It would be nice if there were some specific instances of Olberman's alleged bad treatment of Mrs. Clinton. I only heard some justifiable criticism of the campaign, not of her. This tin-eared person would like to be educated.

Metaphor
[Read the article: Can't Darwin and God get along?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Giberson had said nothing more than "We know that all of this discussion about how God might interact with the world is driven by metaphors and extrapolating our own human experience, and trying to find analogies that are always imperfect," he would have said enough.
More discussion about the metaphoric elements of religion is absolutely necessary. Right now!

Excellent

...and counting...
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Five (5) months and seven (7) days. Hold your breath. With any luck...

Mistress Joan, you're spanking your subordinates too much
[Read the article: A tale of two campaigns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dearest Joan,
You do realize, one hopes, that when you end a column with "Use the comments section to tell me why you think the race is so close" you come dangerously close to inflicting unlawful working conditions on your staff. There're already 235, and it's not yet 6 a.m. on the West Coast!
Have mercy!

OMG!
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Paid Plenty"???
So, Rev Ike did have a direct line after all?

-
It doesn't matter...
[Read the article: A pre-convention memo to Hillary Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...how or why Senator Obama has become the presumed nominee. What matters is that Democrats, Moderate Republicans, and Independents join together to deny the neo-con-fundamentalist Republicans the opportunity of controlling the Supreme Court for the next generation.
-
Oh Dear.
[Read the article: Tom the Dancing Bug]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]One can but hope this doesn't last as long as the current Way Lay or the not missed nor lamented Kansas O'F.
-
Thanks, Chroma, for the info...
[Read the article: WayLay]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...if it is a re-print, Salon should've told us. Otherwise, snoozeville.
-
Hmmm.
[Read the article: WayLay]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And Lay and the editors at Salon.com didn't see this as a snoozer?
Interesting to learn that "You will buy stuff now..." works--at least on Salonites.

Disaffected Hillary Supporters...
[Read the article: Who is Sarah Palin?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...who would vote Republican dominance over the Supreme Court for the next 30 years, just to vote for a woman Vice-President, surely exist only in the minds of pajama clad bloggers and bloviating talking heads.
-
Ah
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yep

[Read more letters about this article: Here]...the House Republican "revolt" turns out to have caused a better bill due to more days of reflection,we'll all be better off. If not, nothing's lost.
