Original article: Pelosi's power play

I Know Murtha -- Who Is The Other Guy?

As a typical American who doesn't know everything about politics -- I do know that Murtha has guts and the balls to get the job done.

I know that because I've seen him on TV everyday speaking common sense to power even though it might cause him trouble.

Who the hell is the other guy running for the position?

Where was he when Bush needed to be told, point blank and in his face, that he was screwing up?

Nancy is doing the common sense thing. Murtha has guts, Murtha doesn't make deals nor back down and cower when Bush glares at him and Murtha is well-known by Americans for these things.

And this other guy?

Speaking as a typical American it would be considered kind of a betrayal to give this position to some unknown who never once went on TV and spoke truth to power. Or has he? He is so unknown that I can't say. I need a guy with GUTS to stand up to Bush, not some behind the scenes player that no one has ever heard of.

Original article: John Edwards live

Edwards Is Correct -- It's Far To Late For Small Steps.

One of the things that bugged me most about Hillary is that she did that thing about a "Listening Tour" and how she wanted to have a "national conversation" to see what we think about issues.

After all this time in office she doesn't already know what we want as citizens? She isn't clear about how we feel about the Iraq Occupation and she isn't clear on how we feel about national healthcare? C'mon.

Also, both her and Obama seem to have no intention of doing anything if elected. My impression is that the reason they only speak in very, very vague and general ideas about poverty and healthcare is because they actually have no plans and no intentions of changing the status quo.

I think we need a Richardson/Edwards ticket.

We need the huge experience of Richardson plus the passion and drive of Edwards.

Obama and Hilary seem to be all sizzle and no steak.

Who Would Spend $500? I WOULD!

Any handheld PocketPC or Smartphone costs around $300-$500.

Do they have REAL web browsers? No.

Do they have Apple’s unique (and better) touch interface? No.

Do they have iTunes (with cover flow)? No.

Well, surely they can play full length movies, right? No.

Okay, okay. But all of them have VISUAL voice mail, right? Nope.

So I find it a little difficult to comprehend how so-called “tech reporters” can claim that the iPhone is over-priced and offers no new features. Here’s a hint: they HATE the fact that Apple really is as awesome as the hype. The difference between Apple-users and Windows-users, unfortunately, is as deep and intense as the differences between Sunni and Shitte in Iraq. Even if Apple cured cancer they’d still be pumping out stories about how Steve Jobs has “fooled” the world into buying another overpriced product that doesn't really offer much --- and then write a glowing review of a Windows product that actually gives people cancer.

I’m buying the iPhone for the FULL WEB BROWSER alone! Everything else is a bonus.

Original article: Sleepless in the Senate

Harry and Nancy Are Weak!

Harry Reid is weak.

What we need is someone that can speak above a whisper! What we need is a Democrat who will pound his shoe on the podium in front of the cameras day and night and publicly – one more time: publicly – call out President Bush and demand he stop hiding behind his press secretary and explain his military failures and wild spending before the American people.

Get in front of the cameras and demand Bush respond publicly to his questions. Call Bush out!

That is exactly what the Republicans do and by God the public jumps to their feet and screams “Damn right!” every time they do it.

Harry Reid gets in front of a camera, mumbles something about how he kinda/sorta maybe would like Bush to possibly please withdraw some troops – or else! Or else Harry will shrug his shoulders and then go sit down like a good boy and not make a scene. Mumble, mumble.

Yes, we all want to raise the public discourse. We all want a debate of real idea.

But my God! If the Republicans can call John Kerry a baby killer on TV 24hrs a day – you cannot(!) respond by mumbling and shrugging your shoulders! People see that as WEAKNESS!

Call Bush out on TV! Harry should be on TV every freaking day reading off the lists of how many dead in Iraq, how many wounded in Iraq – demanding Bush explain how we’re “safer” by focusing 100 percent of our military on Iraq and utterly ignoring Pakistan, demanding an accounting of the money spent and lost, asking tax payers if maybe their tax dollars ought to be better spent securing our ports instead of mediating a civil way between poorly armed (no nukes) religious fanatics in Iraq.

And my God Nancy P is just as bad!

How are we supposed to convince people we are strong on defense when I, a die hard Dem and liberal, think Harry and Nancy are the biggest wimps on the planet?

Republicans don’t waste time with meaningless gestures like an all-night debate. They get on TV and call Dems commies, baby-killers and Nazis sympathizers and love or hate it that kind of plain in your face drama works!

Stop being wimps and get on TV and call Bush out! Demand he explain how granting himself the powers of a dictator is in keeping with his conservative philosophy of “smaller government”???
