So no, Sarah, the reason you became an international laughing stock wasn't because of "the media" chopping up your interviews and making you look bad.

You are an international laughing stock because you said really idiotic things every single day for several months.

There was never going to be enough room for all those people.

So maybe they thought it would be safer and easier if they just choked the whole thing up...and thousands of people would just give up and go away? Maybe the big mistake was not understanding how committed these people were?

I don't think they really wanted ALL of those people crowding in around close to Obama (anywhere close to Obama) because it would make it that much harder to provide security. Can you really scan the crowd for snipers or terrorists if there are MILLIONS of people there?

Was it really poor planning or maybe it was (somewhat) intentional to thin out the massive crowds?

If you are a white, Christian American that you get treated by one set of Rights....if your a brown-skinned foreign devil (and not Christian at that!) then it's okay to do whatever we want to them.

"C'mon! It's not like Iraqi's have souls like regular white Christians!" so explains the pro-torture advocated. "You can beat them as much as you want and it's perfectly okay!"

The double standard here is very revealing.

Let's just be blunt: If you think torturing an Iraqi is okay and that torturing an American is not okay....you're a no different than any other goose-stepping Nazis in 1940.

We have to be honest and call these people out.

Would the Nazis have ever thought it was okay to treat their aryan brothers and sisters in the same manner as they treated the Jews? Of course not. "Jews aren't human like us," the Nazis would rationalize.

Two seperate standards then, two seperate standards now.

White Americans get treated one way.

Brown skinned Muslims get treated by a radically different set of standards and a totally different "morality."

I don't see how any neocon could spin this reality.

But then again the pro-torture advocates know this.

This isn't about anything other then a small portion of the American populace that is, frankly, so full of xenophobica hatred that they simply cannot see straight.

It is unthinkable to these people that we shouldn't "punish" them....even if a lot of them are later released because (oops!) they didn't actually do anything.

"Make'em suffer! Make'em bleed! The only good Iraqi is a dead Iraqi!"

Um...yeah. There is a healthier way for the pro-torture advocates to work out their personal demons than in sexually assualt/torturing POW's at GitMo. I would suggest these people seek out professional help (or maybe crack open a history book and learn that randomly torturing 14 year old boys turned over for bounty to US troops isn't exactly an "effective" military strategy for safeguarding the homeland)

It's time for us to hose the blood and fecal matter off the walls of GitMo and restore some honor to this entire operation.
