Original article: The 9/11 deniers

I'll Play Along - Where's Osama bin Laden?

If Bush and followers feel Clinton should be excoriated for failing to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, then they must feel REALLY embarassed by this administrations inability to carry out that task.

If capturing or killing bin Laden was such a simple thing for Clinton to have accomplished, than the motivation and resources put into play by Bushco after 9/11 should've made capturing him a foregone conclusion.

Put another way- if Clinton should have been able to catch him with the resources and motivation available pre 9/11, then the only reason we haven't caught him post 9/11 is because we simply don't want to. I believe our governemnt has no desire to catch him, and no intent of trying.

Did Osama really want John Kerry to be president as all the conservatives said? If so, why did his only appearance immediately before the election swing the election in Bush's favor?

I Bet they have a GREAT Database

Is there any bit of personal information the government doesn't currently have on all of us? I'm sure they wouldn't use any of that information they're collecting illegally for political gain. It's strictly to catch al qaeda.

Shooting from the lip?

George Bush has had more slips of the lip than anyone in political history and all the media does is provide him cover. Osama bin Laden? "I just don't think about him all that much." The war on terror? "I don't think it can ever be won." How are things going in Iraq? "Mission accomplished."

The media would have destroyed any other presidential candidate for these comments, and these weren't slips of the tongue, he was serious. Hell, Howard Dean was crucified for his voice cracking.

They got a Francine Busby sound bite off of something she immediately corrected following a tongue tied moment anyone can have. As long as we condemn perfectly good candidates by biting on Republican smear campaigns instead of looking at the real reason for defeat, we will continue to lose.

They own the media. Just look how far this very media outlet (Salon) has swung to their concern of being labeled "liberal media."

I think we can even get the redneck vote

If we can't paint the current Republican establishment as "freedom hating commies" than I'm not sure we're up for the fight.

Original article: Torture teachers

Fear Kills

I cannot believe how fucking ignorant and chicken shit people can be. Why don't all you cowards go live in your basement or somewhere the boogey man will NEVER get you.

For starters, it is beyond proven that these techniques don't even work. Worse yet, when you apply these techniques to innocent people or people who don't know the answer to what you're asking, they're going to send you on a goose chase that distracts resources from real threats.

Many of the people who speak out against the inanity of our torture policy- myself included- are ex war veterans. Most of the people who are proponents of it are chicken hawks who think this policy is another way of keeping their sorry asses safe and out of harm's way. Is it a coincidence this new policy was undertaken by leadership of an entire cabal of chicken hawks with either no military or combat experience (Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rummie)?

I know it's hard sometimes, but one has to think beyond the immediacy of seemingly good ideas. This is a horrible policy with no good and all bad consequences- for everyone. I know some people want to piss their pants everytime the see an Arab, and this is common because your leaders are all ignorant cowards too.

You know how your parents, teachers, etc., used to tell you that the "easy" way is typically the wrong way? Torture is the easy way.

Original article: Swift-boat this

Glad to hear of it

What is Jim Webb (or at least his campaign advisors) up to in 2008? I have an idea.

Conservatives and AC Hate our Freedoms

How did letter writer AC think this line fit into his logic: "Clearly the liberal left is hoping that they can get conjugal visits with the Islamofascists." Man, you conservatives are really sexually frustrated.

You can kill all the brown people you want, and you;re still going to find something that scares you equally as much. Perhaps I should say that someone you worship will tell you what else to be afraid of.

For those who love democracy, freedom trumps fear. For Republican conservatives, fear trumps freedom. And with the amount of fear I see being peddled around, we're getting close to the point of no return.

In the past, fear didn't sell, so those seeking absolute power were shit out of luck. But you got to give it to these new guys in charge in terms of their business acumen- they found out how to push their product (fear) for their own gain (power).
