Waiting to Blame the Next Guy

The administration is going to make sure the war in Iraq can maintain status quo (in other words, disaster) until their term is over and allow the next adminstration to make any move and take all the blame. As soon as the next administration as much as flinches regarding the Iraq startegy, they will then assume the blame for all of the past and future disaster.

Bush might as well admitted as much today, but I don't expect the main stream media to follow up on that preposition.

Accountability

When someone sees a conservative accept the accountibility they like to preach about, please let me know. Heck, when a conservative abstains from blaming a leftie for a mess they made please let me know. I'll settle for that.

Come see John and Farhad in BS Town

Is it a coincidence that McCain and Manjoo are both going to bullshit town in the same week? Farhad is a great writer because he actually made me feel like I was in Bullshit Town for a few minutes.

So John McCain is wooing the wingnuts just to get votes. Straight talker George Bush did it and he turned out just fine didn't he?

Original article: Oh, say can you care?

Definition of Irony

A bunch of foreign immigrants want to praise the FREEDOM and LIBERTY of the U.S.A. by singing the national anthem in their native language while a bunch of redneck American citizens tell them they cannot.

Perhaps these immigrants could make some money by teaching our native rednecks The Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Bush Aides say Bush Bested Colbert?

Per the US News and World Report Article, of course the "reviews" would say Bush bested Stephen Colbert in terms of comedy routines if in fact they did. But would that refute or underscore the point of Colbert's satire that both Bush and the MSM are out of touch with reality? Why don't those aides ask that all media outlets make readily available both routines to show just how badly Bush bested Colbert?

This is the first MSM report I've found that actually reveals the fact that Stephen Colbert was even present at the Correspondents Dinner.

Does Free "Singing" Count as Free Specch?

Don't forget the Republican senator who proposed a resolution stating the national anthem could only be sung in english...signed on by at least 7 other GOP senators.

This is Real Simple

Everyone has a mildly varying opinion about what Stephen Colbert's motive was. Regardless of how that is specifically defined, we know for certain that he achieved it. How? Simple. The main stream media and GOP mouth pieces refuse to play it to their listeners.

What are the Police Thinking?

Why do the police think they have the right to question someone who was in a potentially dangerous accident to see if alcohol was involved?

I'm glad to know that everyone in the right-wing blogosphere will come to Kennedy's defense as they did in the case when Cheney shot his friend in the face. There's no proof or reason to believe Kennedy was drinking; and if any proof comes out saying he was, I'm sure it was just one beer.

I've got a Suggestion for a Truce

Let's get Stephen Colbert supporters and detractors to agree on the following two premises and call it a truce:

1. Stephen Colbert is a horrible comedian but would be much more courageous as a probing reporter than the current White House correspondents and MSM reporters.

2. White House correspondents and MSM reporters are much more in tune than Stephen Colbert about public perception of comedy but are scared shitless of doing their jobs.

I've got a Suggestion for a Truce

I posted this on the wrong thread earlier...

You Don't Start (or mention) Impeachment Hearings Without Investigating First

Tim- What is so difficult about understanding the distinction between the two? No Democrat is going to run on a platform that they are going to impeach the president. They are going to run under the platform that they are going to take their branch of government back from the White House.

Democrats Response

At the very least, Pelosi needs to make a statement saying they will take a wait-and-see approach for the very near term, but if current reports appear to prove true, that Democrats have a zero tolerance policy for corruption and will request his resignation.

Of course the Republicans are showing concern for the lack of separation of powers that had Jefferson's home searched. They want to show this false indignation in case a Democratic executive branch has the opportunity to pull the same stunt on the corrupt Republican Congressional establishment.

Personal Accountability

Sure, Bill Moyers didn't start the Iraq War or torture prisoners at Abu Ghraib, but like many of those who have done nearly everything in their power to expose if not prevent tragedy, he feels as though he bears some responsibility.

It is those who arm chair quarterbacks sitting idly by who feel it is suffice to merely blame it on the Bush administration or anyone else.

I think part of Bill's point may have been that inaction is largely responsible for many of the horrible actions we've witnessed. Get it Jeff?

Original article: A lockdown at the Capitol

This is Very Strange

Apparently an anonymous caller called the police to report shots fired in the parking garage. There were no additional eye witnesses, no apparent shooting victims, yet every law enforcement officer within 100 miles appears to be on the scene.

I'm curious if we'll ever know what this major distraction was really created for.
