Agree with David Novak

Davis did not win the Gold in the 1500, and only beat Hedrick by a fraction of a second. Davis has beat Hedrick 6 out of the last 7 times in the 1500, and is a mid distance specialist while Hedrick is more of a distance skater. Yet Davos was right? I don't understand anybody coming to that conclusion. Hedrick will skate the 10,000 later.

While I do not like Davis, and think his life will be tough since his momma seems to run it for him and will probably never allow him to have a wife, I will say he is one graceful skater. Comparing him coming out of the turns to Hedrick coming out of the turns is rather amazing. Hedrick seems to have trouble staying in the lines. Davis holds a steady line with ease. I guess that is the roller blade vs. short track background. However, Hedrick is certainly more of an aerobic animal. To be one of the top mid distance skaters in the world while being the top distance skater is pretty remarkable.

I do wish Joey Cheek got more press. The work he is doing for charity is pretty amazing. He ain't too shabby of a skater either. He and Davis are currently the most decorated American skaters.

King wins!

Poster: The woman is supposed to convey an image of grace and beauty in addition to power and athleticism. Can't be done in a cat suit!

King: Oh my stars, that's so wrong! http://tinyurl.com/nhzcq

What a complete and total smackdown by King! What a lovely, graceful and truly sexy woman she is.

One more comment on Davis.

I think it has been forgotten that Davis tried to qualify in short track speedskating as well as regular speedskating for these Olympics. It seems his need to focus on only a few select events came about after this failure to qualify in what is basically a second sport.

Davis' split with US Speedskating has more to do with his sponsorship deal with a Dutch Bank than anything he has said. He usually wears the DSB logo on his suit rather than the US Speedskating sponsors when competing, thus he receives no funding from them. Of course in the Olympics he has to wear the US uniform.

That was not fair!

I feel you just libeled grunge bands. They don't use nearly as many drugs as endurance athletes.

Such jealousy!

Bode finished 5th and 6th in world. I fail to see that as failure. He was also in 1st when he straddled in the combined. He has historically always DNF'd / DSQ'd many races because of his "go for broke" style of racing, which also gets him lots of wins. This was also a very poor year for him on the World Cup. He obviously was not going to win 5 medals at the Olympics. As far as a pundit getting on him for not finishing a race after he straddled a gate, that is assinine. Once you are DQ'd, it does not matter. Of course a pundit getting on anybody for anything is rather amusing. After all, what can they actually do?

The Real Trick Question.

Or the real question of any sort: If religious fundementalists are so driven to reduce pregnancies, why don't they back sex education and access to birth control. Those are the only ways that have ever been proven to reduce abortions. Until they do that, they are being dishonest.

Accept it.

As a cycling fan, I am pretty lucky. I know all those guys are juicing, and I just accept it. If they want to shorten their lives to entertain me, that is their choice.

I do have concern about Bonds getting Aaron's home run record. I could care less about most of the other stuff, but taking Aaron's, and Ruth's for that matter, record really does bother me.

Nice read.

I thought it was a good article, and funny, which maybe it was supposed to be.

The local media just did a story on driving while on Ambien, and evidently there are a lot of cases of blackout driving occurring under Ambien- without alcohol. (Disclaimer: I never watch TV news but was hooking up my mother's new computer for her, and caught it.)

Funny how we have pro drug company shills posting letters blaming everybody but the company. However, it is well known that people are paid to do this by corporations and the GOP. Perhaps Salon needs to restrict letter posting to Premium Members, at least then they could make some money off these shills.

Original article: Roe for men?

All BS.

Courts have consistently ruled that women cannot sign away child support from the father. The support belongs to the child, not the mother. The same for when the father has custody. There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part the courts have been consistent on this.

If a mother did sign away child support, like this pin head wanted, the courts would allow her to begin collecting it again in the future, under that very argument.

This guy just does not want to pay child support. He probably should have thought about that before having sex.

Except of course....

He was caught in the act, and admitted he was making fraudulent returns. His finger prints, which would have been taken when he was arrested, will not be indentical to his twin's.
