Stop Trying.

Those who are trying to convince Elizabeth should just stop trying. You cannot change a fanatics mind- not with reasoning or logic. You would have a better chance of convincing Bush that he is not the smartest or most hard working man in America.

I wouldn't mind anti-choice people so much if they were not also against sex education and birth control. They way to stop the most abortions would be educating teenagers and making sure they have access to birth control. Convincing a teenager not to have sex when their hormones are running would be like convincing Bush that he is not the smartest or most hard working man in America. Sex drive, or the natural desire to procreate, is the second in power only to compound interest.

I would like most people to argue choice by framing it as giving young people a true choice by educating them. Lets educate the kids about sex, birth and birth control so they have a choice.

Abortion, as Bill Clinton stated, should be safe, legal and rare. Get the anti-choice people to commit to making it rare by fighting for sex education and birth control. Of course, getting anti-choice people to support sex education and birth control would be about as difficult as convincing Bush that he is not the smartest or most hard working man in America.

RightfullyPessimistic....

Thank you for being a grammar nazi RightfullyPessimistic. I am always reminded that people who resort to attacking somebody's grammar, usually do not have a valid argument. It is usually a sign of weak rational and logical thought.

Funny the religious people tend to ignore what the bible says when making arguments about abortion:

Genesis 2:7 “and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul”

And remember the Catholic Church approved of abortion for 1800 years, until thelate 1800's.

WTF?

Patricia Schwarz says that feminists need to be less controlling? Feminists are all about not being controlled and not being controlling. That statement you made is moronic at best.

Feminists want choice, not restrictions, in reproductive rights, education, career, partnerships and in all areas.

They are not forcing anybody to get an abortion, they just don't want people to tell them they cannot. They don't want to force birth control on everybody, they just want to make sure everybody has the knowledge, choice and access. They don't want tomek everybody go to college, they just want them to have th choice and ability to go. They don't want all women to either work or to stay at home as a mom, they want them to have the choice. They don't want all women in same-sex relationships, they just want all women to be able to be in a realtionship with who they want.

Government (GOP), religious conservatives and society are the ones that need to be less controlling.

Original article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily

Great column.

I didn't watch the game, nor any football game this year. The whole thing rather bores me. I do agree that poor officiating can cast a shadow on the integrity of a sport. So can poor judging. I wish you would turn your writing skills to "Skating With Celebrities." The judging is horrible, and it casts a shadow over the whole celebrity, reality show, pairs figure skating. If celebrity, reality show, pairs figure skating is not of the highest integrity, just where is our country headed? Jesus, they let Bruce Jenner stay in the competiton. He can't even walk! He has less mobility than Stone Cold Steve Austin! I am going to start believing all this stuff is fixed or even fake.

To be fair, I do like Bruce Jenner, and think his plastic surgeon is one of the best in the business, but his orthopedic surgeon is useless.

I could go either way.

On one hand I hate to see the cockroach Rush, the drug addict and not the great Canadian rock band, get any press. On the other hand it is good to see light being shined on him and his words. Remember. cockroaches are scared of the light because they become exposed. Maybe it would be best if all Americans were exposed to this "mainstream" conservative commentator- remember what happened when they put him on Moday Night Football. Hell, I think it would be great if all Americans were sent to read the "mainstream" conservative blogs like Free Republic and Little Green Footballs as well. Lets let the people see who they are really supporting.

Grief.

It is okay to grieve. One thing that helped me after my divorce was when I relized I was grieving not for the loss of our marriage, but the loss of what I thought it could be and what I wanted it to be. It really was neither of those. It was just what it was, and I realy do not miss it now.

Also, time heals very well, just not quickly. Live your life to the fullest while you wait.

One Of The Good Things...

One of the good things that has come about because of the Bush administrations is that I get to laugh directly in the face of anybody that tells me they are a conservative because they like small government. I laugh long and hard directly into those people's faces, hopefully getting spittle on their face. Then when they talk about conservatives getting the government out of our lives I laugh louder. Nothing shuts them up like that. They have no comeback.
