Actually Joe Lieberman was successfully primaried by Ned Lamont. It was the GOP and DLC Democrats, like Hillary Clinton, who helped Lieberman win as a 3rd party candidate. Other Democrats did take note of the success in the primary, and it is reflected in their votes at times. It will happen more and more.
Kos has always been interested in electing Democrats. He has always been open about that. He also wants Democrats who support true Democratic ideals. Hillary is a DLC leader, and most Democrats feel DLC Democrats do not support the same ideals. They are too closely tied, and owned, by corporations and lobbyists. Obama had slammed the DLC at least 3 times. Most people on Kos supported Edwards and then Obama. The Clinton trolls, and some of them may be paid, will not be missed. What Koc wrote was fairly correct in my mind.
Why did it take until page 7 to get a full on wingnut blaming this current state of the economy on the Democratic Party? PoliticalRealityOnline, who seems to be living in one of the wildest self created fantasy worlds ever, blames everybody but his buddies in the GOP.
1) The current economic downturn began exactly 8 months after DEMOCRATS took control of Congress...
Wrong mouse breath! This economic downturn began years and years ago as subprime loans and ARMs were being pushed on everybody who was even ambulatory. Then these high risk loans were packaged and sold to morons in the "free market" as securities. All this started when the GOP ran everything!
2) The radical increase in oil prices is a primary driver in the economic slowdown because it correlates to Americans paying over $350 billion more for oil annually since DEMOCRATS took control of Congress and began demanding...
Wrong petro head! Demanding don't mean crap. Demanding does not cause anything. What causes huge increases in oil prices is the shortage of oil as China buys more and more of it. The slowdown in the economy is largely because of the housing industry dying a quick and painful death. Now that all the subprime mortgages have blown up in people's faces, credit has tightened. Suddenly the smart guys in the loan industry are deciding that making jumbo loans to crack addicts might not be a good idea. Iraq is also playing a part since it is sending trillions of dollars of our money out of the country! We could be employing local people to rebuild out failing infrastructure, which might help the economy. Making Halliburton rich with taxpayer money damn sure isn't helping us!
3) The increase in oil prices has almost nothing to do with demand increases because supply has grown to more than offset increasing oil demand.
Wrong gas breath. Think China. The fastest growing economy in the world is sucking up all the oil they can get their hands on. Supply and demand! Didn't you pay attention during economics? (Wait, we know you didn't!)
4) Unlike the democrats and their clueless liberal constituents, the oil commodity markets live in the real world and they understand that America cannot leave Iraq without triggering massive further increases in oil prices.
Wrong grease ball! The oil markets do no live in the real world. They live in a world where they get to drill for oil on US public land without paying royalties, they get to influence our government to invade a country so they can try to steal their oil (which the GOP said was going to insure low oil prices- WTF happened there pin head?), and they use our infrastructure transport oil without paying the same percentage of taxes that we the people pay to use the infrastructure. Real world my ass. Oil is going up irregardless of whether we leave Iraq or not. This liberal just hates to see American soldiers die so oil companies can keep trying to steal oil and make profits. The money being spent in Iraq could do much more good here in the US, and Americans won't keep blowing up everything we get fixed!
5) The best way to understand the Democrat's position on the American economy is to imagine a list of all the things you would do if your objective was to destroy the American economy.
Wrong, big water head boy! History has shown repeatedly that the GOP always screws up the economy. Nixon and Ford crewed it up beyond belief, and Jimmy Carter inherited double digit inflation and unemployment, which the Republicans and the conservative owned media blamed on him. Reagan and Bush left the largest deficits in the history of the country, which we are still paying interest on. Bill Clinton came in and gave us a surplus! Then Bush came in and broke the damn country. He broke it! All the king's horses and all the king's men are going to have trouble with this one!
If you want to talk about "The Real World" you need to get out of the fantasy one the you and the GOP are living in. The American people are starting to see throw this crap. Political Reality my ass!
This entire crisis is based on normal folks defaulting on their loans!
No, it is businesses making foolish loans to people who were never going to be able to pay them back. Good business is only making loans to people who can repay them. If you cannot sort out those who can repay the loans from those who cannot, you deserve to go bankrupt! The free market will allow those businesses to fail, but the GOP will try to bail them out.
Hillary Clinton understands how to repay the lobbyists and the large corporations that have contributed to her campaign. I expect to get nothing from a DLC Democrat! Keep your campaigning to campaign related stories, please.
