Original article: Et tu, Teddy?

@skylark

It was JFK who eventually sent 50,000 troops to Vietnam, which made it an American war. It was JFK who agreed to Diem''s assassination, which further made it our war. There is no evidence of JFK trying to get out.

Incorrect, incorrect and incorrect. Check some real books.

During JFK's term in office he raised the number of advisers in Vietnam from the hundreds up to 16,300 advisers. Former General and Diplomat Maxwell Taylor had frequently said JFK felt ground troops in Vietnam was not the right thing to do. The escalation happened after Kennedy's assassination. (Schlesinger, Demma)

JFK was appalled and disgusted by Diem's assassination, according to Maxwell Taylor and others. The CIA encouraged Vietnamese generals and led them to believe that they had the US's support in the matter without consulting Kennedy or his administration.(Karnow)

There is indeed evidence that Kennedy was interested in getting out, specifically a conversation with the Canadian Prime Minister.(Schlesinger)

In fact, you can go to "Vietnam War" on Wikipedia and see the footnotes and the literature they link to. Now you may not like Wikipedia, but the article is cited with very good sources, and you can get the pertinent information with reading the entire books cited. Schlesinger, Karnow and Demma are all considered very good authors and historians.

Dam skylark, almost everything you write is factually incorrect! You are espousing wingnut talking points! Are you listening to Rush Limbaugh again?

Please!

How about we spend 300 million dollars on figuring out how to keep Bush and the GOP from spending more money that we do not have? My God, they toss around money like it is not theirs! Wait... it isn't.

Tom Coughlin

So is Tom Coughlin in the catbird seat or what? He just won a Super Bowl and doesn't have a contract extension in place? Do you think his agent is wetting himself with sheer delight? (If coaches use agents, which if they don't, they should.)

No Such Thing

There is no such thing as an Independent Democrat, and in Connecticut it is illegal to name a political party incorporating the name of another political party, such as "Democrat." Thus why Joe ran under the Connecticut For Lieberman Party, although he has been kicked out of it since, I believe. I wish somebody would call him on his made up name and ask him to provide any kind of information regarding his "party."

That Rocks

I am not a Black Eyed Peas fan, but I loved that! It brought back feelings of the 60's to me.

BTW, I watched the movie "Bobby" the other night. GO watch it. It has its flaws, but it is moving for the RFK images.

Anon

Dear To-Cowardly-To-Even-Post-Under-A-Made-Up-Handle,

I liked RFK. That does not mean I like his kids, nor who they endorse. Bobby was the man, but the other Kennedy's have done great things as well. I respect anybody who works for the common good of mankind. I will be voting for Obama.

Now at least grow enough balls to make a up a handle and post under it consistently instead of cowardly hiding amongst the other Anon's.

Make It Easier!

Smith.

Click through on my name. You'll find everything you need to know.

You may be asking too much of Smith here. To see a link under your name, to actually hold the mouse over it and sees that it goes somewhere, and then maybe clicking on it. You have to spoon feed this stuff to some people.

Original article: Make your own candidate

Primary vs. General Election

I think you should vote for your favorite candidate in the primary, not who you think can or is going to win. Vote with your heart and mind. However, I do think you should probably vote for somebody who is still actively in the race. I was an Edwards supporter, but did not vote for him since he suspended his campaign.

In the general election, it is Democrats vs. Republicans that matters, in all but a few cases. During Bush vs. Gore that is exactly who it was. No third party candidate, no matter hos big his ego, was going to win. However voting for him did effect the outcome of the Democrats vs. Republicans. The GOP won and has since spent 7 years destroying our country.

So vote your heart during the primary. In the general, however, note that the only real way to keep the GOP from doing more damage is to vote for the Democrat. I am a former Edwards supporter who now supports Obama. Hillary is my least favorite of the major candidates. You can bet your ass, however, that if she wins the primary I will be voting for her in the general. No third party candidate is going to tempt me from doing my duty of keeping the GOP out of office.

Nice, but...

The ex needs to get a bigger place. She cannot be coming around and using your kitchen and house because she chose to get a smaller place. If you are worried you are not going to get laid, you may be right if you let your ex hang around all the time. Dude, you gave her a key! Your ex! No! Boundaries!

I am in my 40's and single. I hate clubs, other than going to see a band. Just start doing what you like, with groups or interest groups, and you will meet people, which will lead to meeting women. You are in yoga class which should be a prime location to meet women. Try museums with special nights, shows, maybe even the PTA. I have a buddy who meet his girlfriend in an astronomy club. Just do what you like.
