More intelligent people...

More intelligent people than you King, the commenters at the Atlanta journal-Constitution (a group of rocket scientists if there ever was one), seem to feel that Vick should get another chance, with the Falcons mind you, because he did not do anything wrong. This is all PETA's fault, and people hunt and kill animals anyways, and the Human Society kills dogs don't they, and some murderers get less than 23 months and these were only dogs, and dammit he is the Falcon's only hope ever!

Lets be serious, football fans, owners and coaches would let a guy who molested their mothers and sisters back onto their team if they could help them win.

Could have...

Compared to the 84 minutes Lindsey Lohan spent in jail, for commiting a crime that could have actually harmed a person.

The key phrase is "could have." Her crime did not harm a person. Vick's harmed a lot of defenseless animals. Plus the gambling and funding a criminal enterprise- which Lindsey Lohan "could have" done, but chose not to- is also against the law. Vick is not going to jail just because some dogs were killed, he committed other offenses along with that. If Vick was not a wealthy celebrity he would have received a much longer sentence and he would not have been allowed to remain out on bail until sentencing after getting caught with pot in his system, if at all.

PFAL

Is that dogfighting is a black thang.

Wrong Kemo Sabe! In the country, it has always been a white thing. Just outside of Atlanta, it is now a Hispanic thing according to busts made this month. It is a just a cruel, moronic thing, actually.

If Vick were to come back, the owner of his team would need to worry about the Animal Liberation Front.

Bah! I am more worried about The Popular Front of Animal Liberation! Now those guys are really dangerous!

Yes! Please!

Thrasher says: My final post on this subject matter...

OMFG! Yes! His last post! Oh wait, the moron had to post 4 more times. What an idiot.

As far as Vick confessing so he should get a lighter sentence? He screamed about his innocence until the last possible moment. He confessed last, after all his co-conspirators had given him up. He only confessed because he knew he was going down. That does not count. The first people to sing get the deal. The rest get the time.

Original article: McCain: I've got Lieberman

Another problem

This story just illustrates another problem with Hillary and Obama, they both endorsed Lieberman over Lamont. They do not want change, they want the status quo.

And I believe Democrats will actually take some action against Lieberman, like taking away his committee assignments, about the time Rush Limbaugh endorses Clinton.

Please!

Then there's RFK Jr., who loves to bash Bush over Kyoto because he's concerned about the environment his 6 kids will inherit.

RFK Jr. has done more for the environment than 99.999% of the population of the earth. It was John Cronin and he who fought the government to get the Hudson River cleaned up and to control the pollution and to return the river back to the people. He makes an effort every day to make the earth a netter place. To suggest that he is a hypocrite because he has 6 kids who will one day drive is a moronic right wing BS talking point. Crawl back into to your hole until you can do 1/1000 of what he has done for the earth- and that will be never.

If you really want to bash a family that is full of hypocrites start with the Bush family. There is plenty of true information available and you do not have to keep spreading BS.

God, I hate idiots!

Competition

Sure, anybody can start a blog and begin broadcasting their opinion, but that does not mean anybody is going to read it. Good writers will attract readers and bad ones will not. Glenn Greenwald is a prime example. He started blogging, and as people saw he had important things to say his readership grew. Now he gets paid, I hope, by Salon. He is one of the reason I will renew my subscription again. Digby is a writer who also drew a large number of readers because of her well written opinions. FireDogLake ended up actually going and reporting as well as writing opinion pieces. TBogg, who sadly moved over to FireDogLake, attracted a huge following because he is funny and insightful.

For every blogger that attracts an audience, there is also hundreds, if not thousands, who do not attract a following. They do not write well, do not have opinions that people seem to value and are not insightful.

In an AJC opinion piece last Thursday, David Hazinski, a former NBC correspondent, argued against "citizen journalists," which I took to mean bloggers. He even astoundingly argued that the role of the journalist is to publish both sides of the story. That is one of the biggest problems with journalism today, and one of the reasons bloggers exist. The news has been so busy printing press releases from both "sides," that they seem to have forgotten that their job is to print the truth. As long as the main stream media does not print or broadcast the truth we need bloggers. They are the ones trying to get the truth out now. The ones exposing the truth consistently will also get an audience.

Original article: Ask the pilot

Damn!

So I guess now you are going to tell me that even if I did land that 747, some young luscious flight attendant is not going to thank me in many exciting ways. Thanks a lot guy!

I would like to point out that most adults who have never ridden a bike before, will wreck their first time trying. Most adults how have never swam before, will sink their first time trying. Even with pros trying to talk them through it they will not have much success. How do people think they can suddenly land a huge airliner the first time?
