I love how all the wingnuts talk about what a immoral and horrible man Clinton was (which I disagree with) and then came into office saying they were moral and would rule as adults, yet they now use moral equivalence with Clinton to justify everything they and Bush do. "It's OK that we do it, because Clinton did it!" In fact everything they or Bush does is always much worse, or they are just flat outlying about Clinton. How the self-proclaimed mighty have fallen!
BTW, I think Hornet Driver is driving an old AMC vehicle. Very old and probably light blue with rust around the windows. I bet smoke billows out the exhaust when he accelerates, 0-30 in 2 minutes!
" . . . during the Democratic debate, I couldn't find one of them that ever mentioned the words 'Islamic terrorist.'
Good! Right now I am more worried about the Christian Terrorists. Not only do they kill doctors, but they are actively seeking to destroy our constitution and ruin our country. I think they are the number 1 issue facing America right now!
Christ this is bad writing. Again, why is this twit getting a paycheck when you could probably hire Digby? We like various voices, but they must be intelligent. Greenwald was a smart hire. Now give us Digby or somebody comparable and lose Camille.
Can we just give Texas to Mexico and forget about the merger? Texas is already the most polluted state in the union and keeps giving us moronic politicians. Lets just give it away!
The wingnuts always said it was not the sex Clinton had that mattered, but the lying. Well, we are saying it is not the sex that Vitter had that matters (except for the cash exchanging hands part which actually is illegal and Vitter should be prosecuted for that), it is the hypocrisy. OK, that and maybe the diapers, because that is just not right.
While I think what was done to Rasmussen this year on suspicion and unfounded allegations is abominable, think that Contador does not deserve to get the yellow jersey since he came up short in competition, and am disgusted by the Tour organizers destroying cyclists like Rasmussen to further their own agenda in their battle against the UCI, I do believe that cycling is doing what most other sports will not- they are testing the athletes in and out of competition. They are testing and are catching. If baseball and football had a real testing program, they also might catch athletes using performance enhancing drugs and procedures that are outlawed.
As far as the idiot who wants to blame liberals for the crusade against Vick- you are an idiot. Vick brought this on himself and it is being pursued by people of all political backgrounds and races. What he allegedly has done is horrendous. I want to see the full trial. I want to see him fighting to avoid prison time for all of the evidence which is overwhelmingly damning. The feds do not come after people lightly. When they file they are pretty damn sure they have everything they need.
Sure Vick might win in court, and I may also get a date with Cindy Crawford. I just think the odds of me going out with Cindy Crawford are better than the odds of Vick weaseling out of this.
While I have been a reader of yours since turned onto you by TBogg or some other somewhat popular blogger, I was glad to see you posting at Salon. If the people at Salon had any sense they would sign you up with a regular blog of your own and a nice size paycheck. You are one of the most honest and critical voices on the internet now. I hope great rewards follow.
Yes Rasmussen missed two tests and was given warnings from the DCU per the rules and regulations of the governing bodies. He was late with paperwork on two occasions, and while he was the only one of the 6 Rabobank riders warned even though all 6 filed the paperwork at the same time in one instance, he accepted the warnings from the UCI and accepted responsibilty. Still, according to Patrick McQuaid, UCI President, there was no reason to exclude him from the Tour or any race. Rasmussen still passed two out of competition tests in June, one from the WADA/UCI and from the Danish agency. McQuaid further said that the 45 day rule did not apply since cycling works off a 3 warning system. He has never tested positive for drug use in his life. Since June of this year he has been tested 17 times and passed all tests.
(I do give you credit for not spreading the media lie that he missed 4 tests. That is going to stick around longer than the AL Gore internet misquote.)
Regarding his whereabouts, he has denied being in Italy on the dates a former bike racer and TV commentator said he was. It is a he said, he said situation. There is no proof to suggest he was in Italy. There exists a picture of him with his bike supposedly taken at a bike shop, but there is no way to date the picture and I can't even tell if it was even taken in his bike shop. It could have been taken in Alabama for all the detail shown. The only reason he was booted by Rabobank was because of the pressure being applied by the ASO, the Tour organizers. IT was nothing but a witchhunt based upon unfounded allegations.
Rasmussen is the only person who deserved to wear the yellow jersey in Paris. I see great financial gain in his immediate future. I hope his lawyers gut lots of people and companies.
