I believe it.

My Bush loving brother-in-law was in town this weekend. We usually avoid politics when he and my sister are around. Talking about food and how healthy our food supply is, we shifted to politics. I almost fell out of my chair when he said "I am an Evangelical Christian, but I am not a Republican. Being a Christian does not mean I have to be a Republican."

We talked about how Dobson, Fallwell and their ilk have focussed on abortion and gay marriage while ignoring the poor, working people and environmental stewardship. He questions their beliefs now. Even while still loving Bush I know he gave much time to his church helping the poor and so I wondered when he was going to figure out that the religious right's leaders held different values than he did.

He is finally starting to see the light! He also gave up his NRA membership a few years ago. He now agrees whole-heartedly with Dean's postion that gun control should be regulated by the states because New York and South Carolina probably need different regulations. This from a long time Army and National Reserve man who works in a factory.

However, as this article suggests, he does think Democrats have their issues as well. His biggest problem right now is that almost all the elected Washington politicians are millionaires. He sees this as one of the big problems with our government.

If we are about to get his vote, the GOP is in deep doo-doo.

Re: M.C. Steve's Comment

I wonder where right wing pundits who slam gays, equal rights and working class people go out to eat? Where could they get food without some bodily fluid or substance in/on it? No wonder most of them want women who stay at home and cook.

I liked the article!

I thought it was pretty funny. I remembered that letter from Savage's column and saw the humor when I read the title. I enjoyed it.

What is it with all these people who hate the author, but feel the need to read all her articles and then comment extensively on them? Is your life so devoid of anything meaningful that this is all you have to do? Wow, how horrible it must be to you. Here is an idea; don't read her articles! Just because you do not like something does not mean other may not. Remember, this is the internet. There is not a limited number of column inches or pages. Salon can publish as many stories a day as they want. They can appeal to everybody they want. If you hate it so much, and feel so offended, quit reading! Why are people so stupid?

Regarding the use of the word "faggot." This story is about Dan Savage, and if you read his column, you would get the point. I don't use the word, but it is part of Dan's shtick. I remember when I tended bar in a late dive in the 80's. I had a large gay clientele. One day we were sitting around early in the evening discussing the use of the word faggot. They said that while they used the word, they did not like straight people using it, and one flannel and jean wearing guy specifically said that he would be uncomfortable with me using it describing him. I replied that it was easier for me just to refer to him as nellie queen. He responded, "Just call me faggot."

Original article: The real Fox News Democrats

BS ratings.

Being the top rated "cable news network" is like being the fastest left-handed fat kid in the third grade. It is not saying much. Network news ratings make Fox News ratings look like the ratings of reruns of "Joanie Loves Chachi."

"Think of most of the Fox Democrats, at least those who appear on the opinion shows as the unknown punching bags paid to lose to big-name professional wrestlers (usually in bouts lasting less than two minutes).

Speaking of wrestling, Fox News gets less than half the viewers of WWE Raw or Smackdown. So the sweaty guys in tights getting paid to lose matches actually get more than twice the viewers of the Faux Democrats appearing on Fox. Not to mention there is usually more truth in wrestling than on Fox News. I would be more likely to think that Trump might lose his hair to Mr. McMahon than I would think that Alan Colmes might actually win an argument against anybody.

Whenever anybody begins an argument with "I'm a Liberal Democrat....," I just assume they are lying- Blog trolls or Fox commentators.

All Democrats should boycott Fox.

No Premium Star

I'd be pissed if I shelled out $50 a year and this is what I got in return.

-- No Name Given

Well, since there is no premium star by your "name," you didn't. Don't worry about me. I have been a subscriber since day one. I always feel like I got my money's worth.

I would be very curious to see the ISP addresses to all these non-premium commenters. I would bet there are just a few people writing multiple letters. It seems Ms. Dickerson has a few stalkers.
