Original article: Dickerson on Colbert

I agree with Dickerson.

I am Irish and my family has a long history in America. My mother's family is from the south and we are southern. I have a friend born to European immigrants with no history in America. While he was born and raised in the south, nobody would consider him southern. His family raised much more like a European.

Likewise, the son of recent Kenyan immigrants may be born and raised in Birmingham, Mississippi, but he likely will have a much different upbringing than the descendant of a line of African-Americans who have lived there for generations.

That is the point I believe Dickerson is making. Obama and his family do not have the close personal connection to the struggle for civil rights and the deep history and feelings that comes with that.

And yes, other countries have had struggles with race. However the experience of blacks in America, for example, is different than the experience of blacks in South Africa. They both suffered, but the history of each nation is quite different. The feelings they have toward their history is going to be different than the feelings that have for another's.

Just because two people are white does not mean they are the same. Just because two people are black does not mean they are the same. Anybody who suggests otherwise is speaking racism.

All Right, Me To....

I could be the father of Anna Nicole's baby. We had a long torrid love affair, and for days she said she only loved me. Let me call my attorney.....

Judge's Fault.

Blame the judge. He should have never allowed many of the questions that were asked. The judge should have been in control of his courtroom. However, he might have wanted this verdict. I don't trust judges any more than I trust cops. Some are probably great, but many are biased and crooked.

Whenever....

Whenever anybody asks why I am a progressive or a liberal, this video will explain it. He articulated very good reasons to support him. I like it!

Ripping off SNL and Gore.

Just a blatant ripoff of Gore's SNL bit. Can't these bozos come up with anything original? Well, of course not.

Funny, from the looks of the tape I bet Hannity had no idea who Rosemary Woods was.

Concern Troll

Roger Tilton sounds like a concern troll.

Applause.

I don't applaud a waiter when he brings me my food in a restaurant. It is expected. I expect the pilot to land the damn plane I am on. No applause for him either.

I want to go to Cuba! Now I know how. You can expect to be contacted by Homeland Security and minute now.

2nd Amendment

I love the idea of some 2nd amendment loving backwoods redneck from Alabama, a hillbilly from North Carolina, or a white supremacist survivalist from North Dakota, reaching behind him in his pickup truck to grab his gun, leaping out of the cab with his Budweiser trained body and paint ball developed war strategy to challenge the US Army! It would be like a canned deer hunt, except that those Budweiser trained bodies would not be running and leaping athletically through the woods avoiding bullets. They will be spastically dancing as bullets rip through their Wal-Mart camouflage covered bodies and and they will be trampling their #3 hats as they try to haul their fat asses back to their trucks. Maybe then they will realize that "Red Dawn" is a movie and without the director calling the shots, they do not stand a snow ball's chance in hell of defeating any standing army.

Hell, they couldn't beat the deer if the deer had opposable thumbs.

LOL!

From farnsworth:

Read something other than the actual words of the amendment.

Why, is your interpretation not matching up to the actual words of the amendment?

Original article: Which side am I on?

LIke what?

You don't need to do a highlight reel of Republicans saying crazy shit. Just make sure Democrats don't say crazy shit between now and the election.

Like what? That all Americans should have access to health care and education? That corporations and the wealthy should pay their fair share of taxes? That America should pursue renewable and green sources of energy? That the Constitution and Bill of Rights should be protected? That America should start being fiscally responsible and begin paying down our national debt? That we should only use our soldiers when America is in actual danger, that we should pay them more and provide them with fully funded benefits if they are injured? That kind of crazy shit?

It is so nice the concern trolls like Locutus are trying to give us such good advice!

The GOP

The GOP supports babies until after they are born, then they no longer care about them. How is it odd that the GOP love soldiers until they return home from war, and then it no longer cares about them?

Free Market!

Mentioning the free market and airlines in the same article is asinine. There is no free market in airlines. The airlines and the infrastructure they use are subsidized by the federal government. There can never be true competition.

I almost always enjoy and agree with your articles. You blew it on this one, and I wonder if it is an insight to your real political viewpoint?

Victory!

I am proud to do my part to help our soldiers in Iraq achieve victory by sitting on a cushioned chair in front of a computer clicking my mouse over and over again to help get The Victory Caucus's page views up again! Sure my finger may hurt after a few minutes, but nothing is more important than helping our soldiers! I will gladly risk carpal tunnel to protect our soldiers from evil liberals!

*Click, click*

Take that you cowardly liberals!

*Click, click*

I'll show you who is really brave!

*Click, click*

Onward to victory!

*Click, click*

Next, I am going to buy another ribbon magnet for my truck! So take that, you Frenchy, Jane Fonda loving liberals! I'll show you how brave I am!
