Jesus!

The guy thinks the 10 Commandments are important enough to shove down our throats, but not important enough to know?

The most striking thing to me was the shape of the 8th district. Do you think they have gerrymandered that district any more than they did?

Very nice

What a wondeful article. Travelling with kids can be horrible, or it can be an enrichnign experience. Thanks for reminding me of that.

(What is with the anger and hatred by a poster? Jealous wingnut?)

Nielsen ratings, June 12-18

O'Reilly Factor 2.3 million viewers.

WWE Raw (Monday, 10 p.m.) 5.8 million viewers.

Over 2 and half times as many people would rather watch over-tanned men in tights get sweaty wrestling with each other than watch and listen to Bill O'Reilly make crap up.

No spin, just the facts.

I report, you decide.

My Favorite!

"Guillen also said he has gay friends, plans to attend the Gay Games in Chicago, attends WNBA games and also went to a Madonna concert."

But now I can't find the story that had that paragraph! Arrghhhh!

Graphics!

I was thinking the same thing! The game starts, action is happening and I can't see the damn field because of graphics! I am remembering their names by phonetics at this point, and seeing them spelled out under some little pictures is not going to help me. Just show me the damn game!

All sports producers should have this question in their brain at all times- "Is this going to help or hurt our viewer seeing the actual game?"

Sadly, I am ruined by HiDef. I do not get the spanish stations in HiDef, and regular TV just looks like crap compared to HiDef. I was checking this out by switching between HiDef and regular TV during the games. My thought was, "How could I have watched this before and thought it was a good picture?"

Be like Newt?

You can be like Newt Gingrich and leave your significant other while they have cancer, or stick it out.

Maybe just stick it out for today. Think about tomorrow tomorrow. You do not have to make a life long commitment now. Things may work our. Thing may not work out. You may help her out, break up, and just end up lifelong friends. You may end up deeply in love an married. Who knows where it will head?

How will you feel if you cut and run on her? How will she feel.

Maybe stick it out today.

Great Story!

Kimberly Sevcik researched and wrote a great story. This is journalism. Can I see more of this please? When Salon does this type of story I feel great about my subscription, and am glad I am supporting the site.

I remember when I was 18 and I went out on a date with a 16 year-old Mormon. Two days later she was gone, married off to a church elder.

Zidane Head Butt.

With Holyfield coming out of retirement, I wonder if Zidane would consider giving him some lessons. He dropped that Italian like a bad habit with a single head butt in the chest. Imagine Holyfield improving his (inadvertant) head butting ability. He could be champion again!

Bad Ref!

The referee would have missed it if he hadn't consulted with one of his assistants, who had apparently seen the replay on one of the stadium's giant video screens.

And that is against the rules as well. They refs are not allowed to use video to make decisions. How can the refs make the players follow the rules if the refs themselves do not?

Lawsuit no pending in France about this.

I say, let them beat the hell out of each other. It will only add to the game.

FCC

People in these markets need to start filing complaints with the FCC. If they will not fine them, make them explain why a women's nipple is obscene, but calling for the murder of a publisher is okay.

Remember, some old southern lynchings used to have "trials" as well. This is hate speech that needs to be dealt with.

What?

Webb says: If you look at economic issues, this is not Ronald Reagan's Republican Party."

Run up deficits. Tax cuts for the rich. The little guy gets shafted. (Trickle down, or "Piss on the Poor," economics.)

What part of that GOP economic policy was Reagan against?

Tour

First off, the Tour de France is usually the most boring of the three "Grand Tours." The Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta Espana tend to be more exciting, with much more difficult climbing. Sadly, TV coverage of these is pretty much non-existent.

OLN has certainly screwed the pooch and botched any hope of good ratings.

1st off, the tried to portray George Hincappie as a possible Tour winner- lots of commercials and stuff. That would be like portaying TO as Ms. Congeniality. It is not going to happen. Not in this life time. They lost all credibility right then. And then as Hincappie drops further and further back in the standings, Phil Liggett just keeps sniffing his jock like a crack whore sucking on a pipe. Announcers should at least be realistic. I am sick of hearing about the Discovery team altogether.

2nd, they show the Tour 2 or 3 dozen times a day. Maybe having a build-up and one showing in the evening would drive up ratings. I think dilluting airtime with constant showings would drive evening ratings down.

3rd, Al Trautwig.

4th, CBS. Hey, is CBS really showing the Tour on some days? Wow! I didn't know that.
