I'm a Republican (only because they are the lesser of the two evils) and I am hoping Huckabee doesn't win too. He and Guliani are the only two candidates who can't win in November. The other Republican candidates will CRUSH any Democrat.
One thing though. When I read these liberal blogs I am taken by how anti-God they all are. I mean, mocking God may play well in cocktail parties on the upper east side but in the end, you will meet Him and be called to account for your entire life.
We ARE a Christian nation, founded under the watchful eye of the Christian God and the author of Christian morality and all denials to the contrary do not change this. Abortion in murder. Homosexuality is a perverse disorder. Etc. These truths will be driven home to all of you on the day you face your Creator. Your snide attitude and air of superiority won't serve you very well.
One thing God will ask us all is how we managed to effect His will in our political lives. Huckabee is likely to fair well on this question. Ditto "W". How will you do? What will you say?
PS
I am amused at the assumption that the country under George Bush hasn't faired very well. Huh?
I, and millions of others, are very happy with "W". He took on the Muslim hordes, beefed up law enforcement, gave great tax cuts, made fun of Liberals, talked about God all the time, infuriated 'intellectuals'. I love the guy.
You AJ!
Thanks for tipping me about how wrong I am! Whew! I can see where I went wrong what with my not having spoken to "Amiri Baraka" and having almost no exposure to Sufi Islam or Hinduism. And there I was, getting my theology from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John with the occasional Paul thrown in.
Sufi Islam? You're a riot.
...nothing like the occasional blog from a Conservative or a Christian (read "real American") to stir up the ire of the oh so intellectually superior liberals.
I do not need a healthy debate about 'whether God exists'. I am absolutely clear on that question. I also know who He is and what He expects from each of us. I don't have ALL the answers, never said I did (that's YOUR prejudice showing) but I got these ones down.
As for 'fear', you guys got it, not me. Faith is the absence of fear and your shrill blustering indicates you got tons of it.
As for 'gay bashing', that term is a liberal feint. I ain't bashing anybody. I love and pray for my brothers and sisters who are lost in homosexual perversions. They are bashing themselves and this pains me. It offends God too.
You are right one one thing though. There are millions more of US than you think. If you met me in person, I'd be wearing my mask; I'd be measured and discreet. But when meeting with my cult brothers, we let it all hang out. It was fun bantering with you guys today...I am off to Church now (the one true church...heh heh)
It is not often I surf into liberal loony land but when I do, I am never disappointed, though I am sometimes shocked. The bigotry, intolerance and prejudice is alarming. All a man's got to do is express a bit of Christian thinking and he 1)wants to murder homos, 2) hates women, 3) yearns for a Theocracy, 4) is an apocalytic fatalist, 4)an Episcopalian, etc. etc. These are all your prejudices, not my beliefs.
I love the phony intellectualism. FYI, I am a Professor with 2 graduate degrees, one of them in Theology. Most of you who opine on theology are embarrassingly wrong.
you all need a little love and tolerance in your lives. Perhaps if you had a God in your lives?
the intolerance of the bloggers here is just astounding, only surpassed by the ignorance.
No theology in the evangelists? Read the Gospel of John.
As for quoting Mosaic Law (that's the old testament kiddies) Jesus advises that the OT is there to keep people in line until His coming. Let's stop quoting Mosaic Law to Christian bash. IT is not logical...or kind.
The Father's of our Country were Christians and most of them devout. Pointing out the exception (Jefferson as a Deist) proves the point, doesn't disprove it.
JEfferson's re-writing the Bible is an embarrassment, don't you think? For him certainly but also for anyone who would point to this as some sort of enlightenment
chill! Slow down. So many errors; so little time.
1) you are correct in saying my money is not mine but God's. IT does NOT belong to the government. That is the logical leap that the Christian left wants us to make. Caring for my brothers is my personal responsibility, and it is not the government's job to usurp it for me (us).
2) Jesus most decidedly did NOT hang out with sinners. He hung out with middle class white guys (the Apostles) and with the upper class folks who funded him. And we both know (you might be confusing this a bit) that He confronted sinners of all types and 'healed' them and forgave them. Then he told them SIN NO MORE. (forgot that part, didn't you?)
3) God does not, in my view, support the government's social programs as being as arm of His????? A Christian can oppose them because he knows they merely make people dependent pawns of the government and perpetuate the problems that make the social ills happen.
4) Government is responsible for keeping its citizens safe and that is why having a military, a police department, fire dept etc are entirely moral uses of governement power.
5) As for homosexuals.....God certainly does delight in their existence. But He also intends for them to live chastely, bearing the cross of their disorder for His sake by not acting on their perverted desires. But He does love them. That is for sure! Praise Jesus!
