Project much? Get your facts straight before you rant about the depth of your personal bias against those drunk, cunning 15 year olds.

Your isp address could be used against you if you ever get in any trouble, silly. Attacking the victims and saying they deserved a rape and beating could come back to bite you. Sounds almost like you have some experience with this. Almost.

That's what we need....

Passion.

I enjoy some of the more angry responses here. I stand corrected on Anonymous too as well. OK, I hear you. LET IT RIP then! Let's go after these vicious behavior(s) and grossly exaggerated over-sexualization of young girls. It is an abomination and adults need to gather, talk, plan, scheme and work very hard to turn this tide. We all have some experience (personal or not so personal) with this sort of thing.

Let's get involved in our communities and schools, talk to youth, talk to parents, roll your sleeves up and find a place of power by doing something. If you do nothing, you are not so different from those casual onlookers, who made the choice to giggle and record the event rather than help that girl being attacked.

Or you could do nothing and allow history to keep repeating, right in your own backyard.

Condolences

I was sad to hear about your Mom. It was startling to read in a column so I cannot imagine what it feels like to you.

My sympathies to you and your family Patrick Smith.

Thanks for your work, too.

Wouldn't it be kind if adults pitched in and did something to try to distract the little bugger? I know not everyone likes children (did you forget you once were one?) and I am not asking that you set down your Janet Evanovitch novel for the entire flight. Oh no, please don't miss a stab at your quality lit and quiet time. But it wouldn't kill anyone to ask the parent if there was something they could do to help.

I've held babies for other parents on a plane before. I've walked down the aisle with a toddler that was not mine, if the kid and parents would allow it. Play some damn peekaboo with the kid if you are in the unfortunate seat nearby. Then put your headphones on and be glad you aren't that parent. My kids would even try to distract or play act with this child, because it would be helpful to the people around them or because they'd notice the tension. That adults don't know how to do this, yet sit complaining, expecting to be rescued seems rather naive.

It's more than an inconvenience if the kid is unhinged and the parent is doing nothing, yes, but this is extremely rare. You are more apt to see parents badgering their kids, limiting their behaviors and generally apologizing to everyone for the tiny terror.

Just be thoughtful. Whether you are the crazed parent, or the observer. It's not that hard. Sometimes calming or assisting the parent can solve this little problem.

Sure, I'd hire Sarah Palin...

...to teach my kids how to ride a snowmobile maybe.

After the first book...

...the story is tired. It's almost like her publishers pressed her to produce or something.

Cancer, leave him alone!

Anything you need Cary.

I am devastated by this news. Everything looks upside down today. You are one of my heroes.

If this is scandalous, we've gotten pretty dull.

Well, were it not for the theatrics, it would be pretty boring and predictable. His voice is just off. I like this guy's bombastic style though, and it's part of this show to be in your face and push it. I mean, look how he uses his voice, pushing and straining.

However, if someone got upset over this, they are either forgetful or have been hiding in a closet for the past 20 years. This isn't exactly shocking or groundbreaking.

tis' true

Momma usually takes the hit. Even in 'families' where Dad disappears, the mother who stays and does her best to work it out, get's attacked. As a musical example, because I just heard one of his more awful tunes... just ask Eminem.

Strange rangers

Anyone who thinks they have a direct line to God is delusional.

So just because you disagree with someone, you can wish them dead just like that? Isn't that what children do when they play war?

If this isn't a case against religion and specifically fundamentalists, then I don't know what is.

NICE one Jug...

Leave it to Mark Twain to state the obvious. Love this one!

oops, i now see the whole thread...

either way jug, nice responses too.

So, getting back to original comment:

If you want someone dead, you just pray? These people vote and drive and procreate?

Dear God,

We are in trouble!

You can handle anything.

And write about it so we can cry and laugh with you.
