Is your theory that the Republican party is the one for women? If so I urge you to review who is pushing this abortion issue. It was made clear months ago that Republicans and "pro-life" Democarts were going to try and slip this in to any final bill if they couldn't clear it outright. What were you doing to ensure this didn't happen? Public option proponents were making calls and donating money.

If you want that provision stripped from the final bill work (finally) to get it done by calling your senator and getting organized. I think you're on the money here. My question is, why don't more people realize this? This isn't exactly quantum mechanics, most people SHOULD be able to see how governments manipulate the idea of the "other" to promote their agendas. Why do so many willingly allow themselves to be manipulated?

Answer that question and maybe one day we'll be able to stop the practice altogether.

The netroots left of 2003-2007 pushed Democrats AWAY from ill conceived ideas such as the war in Iraq, torture, wireless watertaps, outing of CIA agents, and overall just making the US look like a joke.

Their failure to do so is why approval ratings are down so sharply.
