Original article: Last words

Timely Though Tragic Mr. K

The world is spinning rather quickly of late and tossing many to the spectre of unkown destination. What with dreams being crushed and futures laid waste we are all apt to urge an obituary contain a request for the recall of the lines "Cowards Die Many Times before their Deaths but The Valiant Taste of Feath but Once" - but any printing or utterance of the poetic words would be small comfort for the masses who daily slip a way to unemployment, illness, homelessness and general destitution.

Today I expect to read countless 'Obituaries' about some form of death in these the days of the "Winter of our Hardship" .... Indeed many a person's demise comes in varied forms that are all to heartbreakingly familiar for those who tread this vast but fast shrinking orb ... an orb that is sadly also the dwelling place of 'Ponzi Princes' and 'Robber Barons' who in a manner akin to the dark angels spectre have hastened the 'Hearse of History' on so many fronts.

Irregardless the current malaise you have lightened my load a bit with this tidy missive on a seldom examined branch exercise of the black art dear Garrison ..... and for that much thanks.

Original article: You think this is cold ...

We get it

Chuckle .... We were greatly 'warmed' by the speech your President made last evening .... It had a "Rooseveltian" (sic) ring to it that warmed the cockles of our hearts and what with Garrison's pale reminder of yester-years suffering by those of us raised in the frost belt .... why we suddenly came to realize that like President Obama's optimism during this 'Winter of American Hardship' that spring cannot be far away.

Those of us from the the north country really do get it Mr. K .... Thanks for the chuckle .... and we are also thankful for that other hardy soul from Hawaii/Chicago who also gets it!

Intelligence and humour are a marvelous combination

Rachel Maddow personifies the 'attractive' woman of this new century ..... Intelligence and wit that need not exude the 'sex' of the dozens of other women who are pawned off by the media conglomerates as 'Journalists' [I will not name them but you know who they are] when in fact those other females on the screen during a 'news' show are all to often just 'Furniture' to use the sleaze term of old gangsters.

Rachel is attractive in all the right ways to a thinking person ...

PS: .... I'm a male heterosexual in his 60's without fantasies or other mental quirks and I am heartened by the fresh and new intelligent approach that Rachel Maddow brings to the public discourse via the media!

What do you Mean "We're on the brink of disaster"

There is something slightly amiss here .... No one is

"on the brink of disaster"

....

In truth most of the worlds 'poor' (Several Hundreds of Millions) are already fully immersed in their own 'personal' or 'community' disasters.

Much suffering is at hand already .... but most Americans have historically had a hard time taking their eyes off of their navels to see things as they have been for so many years and as they are now for so many others .... Shamefully!!!

Original article: When your brother dies

Would that one had words that would console

Silence and Silence and Silence .......... and more Silence .... there are no words .... your memories will have to suffice .....

These are 'normal times' for most of us - not "Apocalyptic"

The "Winter of our Hardship" is something that those of us who are quite far removed from the settings and immediate atmosphere of the "Movers and Shakers" seems relatively bland in its 'sameness'.

This old man, like so many in the global circle of 'small' souls, cannot associate with the fierce urgency of now that assails us from all quarters.

We have weathered yesterdays storms with some pain and we expect that we will weather whatever else comes our way in a like manner. The times seem no more 'Dire' today than they were yesterday for the homeless and hungry ... so many of us are still not yet 'Homeless and Hungry' and so the immediate concerns of our own smaller lives take precedence over stewing about "End Times".

The sun came up in the east today (Just as it will tomorrow) and the 'Lay of the Land' may seem altered to those who are 'Hypnotized' by the current politics and economics of men .... but in fact the 'Land' has not changed or shifted under our feet and unless we hear of the use of box cars being used to 'Resettle' us to the east .... or that every country is vehemently committed to 'Total War' .... well then .... most of us will go about our day in the same manner .... with attention devoted to our much more insignificant and plebeian concerns ...... a course of action we heartily recommend for all.

Knowing that what we might do to change the course of 'Elevated' events beyond our oft times singular but common ken is most likely inappreciable .... Well ... That is the mark of a rationale mind .... and in these days rationality is certainly called for.
