I doubt they will figure out the complex mix of chemicals and environment that shape sexuality (gay, straight, or bi). But if they do and people start aborting potentially gay babies or undergoing hormone therapy during pregnancy to prevent gayness (which I seriously doubt many mothers would want to subject their unborn children to anyway... sounds risky), then us gay people will just keep our own babies who may turn out gay. Who knows, maybe we'll even make babies gay on purpose. lol
Seriously, though. Reproduction and relationships are two different things. I know plenty of gay people that have children and many more who want children. And even if reproductive technology was made unavailable to us, I'm sure most of us could have a few drinks, get the job done, and go on to live with the person we actually love. And we will NOT abort any child who shows "gay" markers, if there is even shown to be such a thing. And I'm willing to bet there are at least some straight people who would also choose not to abort based on sexual orientation (I mean Palin, love her or hate her, decided to have a child with Downs).
You can't keep us down. Even the threat of death has failed to keep us down (see interesting story on cnn.com about gay men in iraq being hunted by death squads)

The Dark Tower Series... everything leads back to the Tower. I picked up my first Dark Tower book when I was 10 years old or so, and I still think about the series from time to time at 31 years old. It's phenomenal.
If you haven't read the Dark Tower, you haven't really read Stephen King.
Do you exercise and eat nutritional, well-balanced meals? You, like most Americans, probably don't. It's funny to picture the LW stuffing a quick cheeseburger from McDonalds now and then while demanding her husband to stop smoking. I could be wrong, of course, but it's a strong possibility that I'm not.
Now, get off the computer and get your butt to a gym like truly health conscious people do, LW.
It's just old fashioned greed, that's all. /shrug I'm not saying I may not have done the same if I was in your position, but lets not sugar coat things. It's greed.
My mother told me we really only need 3 things to be happy. We need something to do, something to look forward to, and someone to love.
We can add stuff like our health or what have you, but as a general rule it's pretty solid. It covers the immediacy of experience that makes us feel alive and in the moment, it covers projecting ourselves into the future (don't look into the void!), and it covers love, the warmest of feelings. Cheese, I know, but it'll push you toward happiness (unless you have some kind of mental disorder like depression... can't help ya there).
Good luck :)
It's A SPACE OPERA. Hello? Get with the program.
I thought the premier was great. Don't forget, they have to wrap up this whole universe in 10 episodes. What were you expecting to come out of the show?
Agore, you're an idiot.
That is all.
Obama was president at 12 noon, whether he took a ceremonial oath or not. What is the alternative? Mccain won...? Bush is still president...?
I hope Obama doesn't plan to waste time trying to defend himself from the tin foil hat crowd. :/
I've flown 10 or 15 times, including 3 times overseas. It used to be easy, but over the years it became more and more difficult. With every plane crash, many of which seem to be caused by simple things like a frayed wire, my reptilian brain inched me closer and closer to quitting. Last summer I completely lost my stomach for flying and drove from Florida to Wyoming to vacation.
Statistics make no difference to me. I'd rather bleed to death on the side of the road than fall out of the sky for many minutes absolutely terrified. I don't want to be burned so bad my body can't be identified. Sure, that might happen to me in a car, but it's a certainty with a plane (if I'm not dropped from some silly height somewhere over a body of water).
The fact of the matter is, regardless of statistics, the KIND of death involved when airplanes crash is unacceptable to many people. I think of the plane out of New York several years ago that broke in half. The back half continued upward for a bit before crashing down. It took a few minutes for those terrified people to fall to their deaths.
I'll take cars and trains, thanks. At least when our high speed rails crash (and I'm sure there will be accidents) death or injury will be instant, not prolonged by falling out of the sky for who knows how long.
I'm so glad I'm a lesbian.
Margaret Cho is hilarious, and Robin Williams isn't and never has been. It's a matter of opinion in the end, isn't it?
