No one is a bigger cool-aid drinker than Joe Conason. This is a guy who defended a reckless president who lied under oath in a sexual harrassment lawsuit, was held in contempt by a Federal Judge and disbarred from practicing law in his home state. Conason was silently complicit in the overtly racial campaign waged in the primaries by Madam Hillary. Conason will never write about Sen. Obama's leftist associations, conveniently changing positions, or irrationality about energy development. No way. Conason has to accuse McCain of acting like Karl Rove, whatever that means. McCain tells the truth about the cult of personality around Obama, and Conason has a hissy fit. Obama is an empty suit, Conason knows it, but he is a leftist partisan hack that must think left, do left, and talk left. Mr. Conason, can you think of one major piece of legislation authored by Obama. How about one major accomplishment? What is your position on his associations with Saul Alinsky, Rev. Wright, Rev. Phleger, Tony Rezko, William Ayres? Or is the very asking of these questions "Rovian"? Is questioning the judgment of a candidate for president and Commander-In-Chief playing the race card? Is asking "what has Obama accomplished" being unfairly? What is your position on Gen. Wesley Clark's comments about John McCain being unqualified? Are all these questions giving your small cranium a pain? You are a liberal chattering class no-nothing weasel. Not quite the weasel as E.J. Dionne, but a weasel nontheless.
I hope that got your attention. Conason, in his denunciation of McCain's campaign, reaches for the Democrats' favorite new phrase, "swift boating." Conason would never be so intellectually honest as to acknowledge that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were made up of hundreds of honorable veterans who told the truth about John Kerry based on their personal knowledge of his service in Viet Nam. It was no Karl Rove strategy at all, and he can't prove in any way that it was. The Swift Boat vets came forward and exposed what a charlatan Kerry was. Obama's campaign was all about race from the beginning. He and his wife have belonged to the same racist church for 20 years. There has not been a single statement by McCain or his campaign that had racial overtones. All Conason and other hacks can come up with is Karl Rove and the Swift Boat vets. Great job Joe. Keep it up, as only you and your socialist friends are buying it.
Talbot's article really misses the mark. To anyone who has followed Sarah Palin's career - and Talbot obviously has not - they would find that Talbot has culled selective quotes out of context and cobbled together opposition talking points from the squadron of Democrat operatives who decended upon Wasilla and Juneau to look for anything remotely questionable in Palin's career. Now, this ignorant Democrat hack, David Talbot, has seized upon something so ludicrous just so he can get the description "mean" out there to attract some attention to a magazine with almost no circulation, and read mostly by liberals on the two coasts.
This guy is so far in the tank for Obama that he has never questioned Obama's past associations, or how "mean" Obama has been to his political opponents in Illinois - why, he's an official Obama hatchetman. Talbot has tried to paint Palin as a "mean" person through the most flimsy, second-hand hearsay and innuendo, yet he cannot find within himself the journalistic chops to go for real stories of corruption and influence peddling in Obama's Illinois past.
What about the Annenberg Center, Mr. Talbot? When have you ever looked into that? How about Obama's long and deep ties to felon Tony Rezko? Never heard of it, huh? No big deal? No, his opinion piece of how Sarah Palin was "mean" to someone is news to this hack. Get a real job, loser.
Here is a fine example of the tolerance of "progressives" (or in simple English, "liberals"):
"Can we knock Sarah off the front page for a while?
I hate her as much as the next progressive, and her deception needs scrutiny. . .
And some of us are experiencing Palin Fatigue Syndrome.
-- talkslowly"
Nice! Now that we've established that this piece of work is filled with hate, it is time for liberals to admit that the true hate is coming from the left, and always has. The left talks about "tolerance" and "getting along" with others, but the truth is that they only tolerate and get along with those whom agree with them politically. This guy "hates" Sarah Palin. He "hates" her! Well, that's progressive thought, isn't it?
