That's about how I saw it, with one difference. The only distinguishable trait I could discern between bush and kerry was that bush had already played his hand. 4 more years of bush meant probable lame duck. kerry might have put his own twist on the curtailment of civil liberties and he wasn't even willing to admit his iraq mistake. He should never have voted to empower bush, but he did. What would kerry have done when he got the power?

As for our current crop. Obama is impressing me more and more. I'd prefer Richardson though.

BTW: "If I knew then what I know now" is an admission of poor decision making ability that will likely be repeated.

"some things"

like going to war and the patriot act. Isn't that enough for you?

Voting for either candidate was a vote for those things.

Dean was the best choice by far. That is what bothers me about hilary. she's part of the machine that knocked down Dean. That machine needs to be scrapped.

Glad you're brightening up and coming around. They are chasing the same money. If it hadn't been for bush's 2d term, lots of scandals wouldn't have come out. We'd have the same corruption, but painted blue. Maybe folks are now educated, emboldened, and angry enough to demand performance by congress, the media, and even the executive.

a) habeas corpus

He'd voted for the patriot act and all it's gifts

b) social security

They all promise to fix it, but never do

c) sound tax policy

No change, same corporate backers as bush.

d) sound healthcare policy

at best he'd put his wife on the project

e) sound environmental policy

You're confusing him with Gore

f) that he would have mishandled Katrina so completely?

Who knows. He might have kept the same cronies in place.

Would Kerry be stacking hthe DOJ with a bunch of Jesus freaks?

Why do you hate jesus? Seriously though, you got me on this one. w's jesus freak factor is scary.

Wold Blackwater be greenlighted?

Yup, kerry voted for the war and the war funding pretty consistently. Outsourcing military functions to contractors is unlikely to stop under any administration.

victim

So, E,PLURIBUS,UNUM, quit making excuses. Do some research. Take responsibility.

BTW, I did have my way. I'm a conservative republican. I'd just like a choice next election. You stupid dems put up another lamer, and I'll vote republican again. I'd have voted for Dean, but kerry? He's a fake republican. This next time around, Obama might be able to pull my vote. Richardson certainly will. hilary, no way.

On the other hand, hilary might start out as a lame duck when all those clinton scandels resurface. Hmmmm

Seriously though. You've earned my respect. You campaigned for Dean. So did I. We'll never agree on whether bush or kerry is the lower life form. Hopefully, in the near future, we can argue over which current candidate is the higher life form.

On the republican side, I prefer thompson and romney. Neither is inspiring though. Once again, the dems have to shoot their own foot to lose this next one.

The first one who says he won't pardon bush gets my vote.

get learned

Joan,

You keep going to bat in favor of roe v wade. Why?

Please note, I did not ask you to defend right to choose. The question involves actually reading the USSC opinion and critical analysis.

I don't see how RvW can continue to stand in the face of current medical technology. The period of fetal non-viability is being squeezed on both sides. Fertility doctors can create and implant while fetal doctors can keep younger and younger fetus' alive.

Please educate and inform

republicans will win again

Reading the letters here, I realize the GOP is heading to a victory. The letter writers are deciding what conservatives are like by looking in the mirror and listening to their own echo chamber.

Hey, I can make up definitions and comparisons also!

Democrats are sweetness and light. Through their relentless efforts they make the world cleaner, happier, and just darn better. Not only that, democrats love people - especially children. Democrats pad carefully in moccasins made from soft cruelty free hemp so that the earth welcomes their foot steps.

Republicans are unthinking jackbooted thugs. They have short attention spans except when drinking cheap beer while watching nascar. Their rage is unending, yet unfocused by their small hardened brains. Republicans line up to crap in the fountain of hope. Republicans are so ignorant and base that evolved minds recoil in disgust from them.

By not understanding republicans, you make things harder on yourselves.

dead kids

Nearly 3400 dead american kids won't come back to life regardless of what hilary does now. There is no do over. Maybe I'd listen if she begged forgiveness on bended knee. She could apologize for putting her own political aspirations over those lives. But would anyone believe her if she promised to never do it again?

Segregation good!

Now we can have female free floors too! Actually, I'm more interested in gay free floors. Then I can relax ove a drink without getting hit on by guys.

Original article: "What is wrong with women?"

sigh

Joss is carping about a stereotype. He could just as easily have asked "what's wrong with men". Then he could have used the violent movie behavior in Captivity to illustrate his point.

As for the "demonic males" post - it really does seem genetic. The biggest ape breeds the females. Observe human females. They tend to find big to be very attractive and tend to see short as a mortal sin. They also tend to find overt displays of power and control over resources to be attractive.
