It means what you want it to mean

If you're obsessed with race it means something about race. If you're obsessed with anything else it means whatever it is you're obsessed with. I remember the same sentiment in 1992 after 12 long years of Reaganism.

We should eliminate Jews from any positions in the United States government

You can never be too sure how those traitorous thugs will go.

Obamatrons should have their antennae out

To twitch for what is starting to smell like an angry mob intent on stuffing heads on pikes. I hope a bloody purge is the peaceful awakening of peace you had in mind. It sure sounds like it's headed that way.

Point being, Congress is a neutered beast. Has been for years. Whether the zealots you love replace the zealots you hate or not is almost besides the point.

Original article: Ask the pilot

Whatever they do they will fail

Either they'll do nothing and kill air travel or they'll try something else and kill it. Either option is fine. I would like to see the end of air travel in the US except under the rarest of circumstances. Like steamship travel a hundred years ago. Stuff the mud people down in steerage while the passengers travel first class. And reduce passenger volumes by 90%. There is zero reason why we need 2000 planes in the air all the time. People should find other means to travel, if they can afford it. I was hoping for $10/gal gas so that Americans would no longer be able to drive as well.

I'm sorry I didn't hear you

We 'boomers' are too busy taking care of our parents AND our children. Our parents generation retired 25 years ago and will live to be about 95 taking every last dollar with them. And our kids seem to have redefined childhood all the way up nearly age 27. We 'boomers' won't be able to retire, unless you figure eating dogfood is an option. And with any luck, the slactastic generation will get married and dump their kids on us to rear because they're too lazy, indifferent or childish themselves.

So if you'll excuse me, I'll be going to that second job now, that one you look down your noses at. That one that's been paying your bills.

Jefferson bought the Louisiana Purchase

With neither Congressional debate nor permission. He just did it on his own consulting, essentially, no one. Congress had to fund it because the option was war with either Spain or France. In fact the era of "Jeffersonian" autocracy masquerading as 'limited government' parallels the rise of the John Marshall era of the Supreme court. Before Marshall the SC concerned itself with interstate commerce and contract law. But Marshall saw the threat of Jefferson's unbridled ego and made the SC a co-equal branch of the government for the first time.

Monroe, and ulitmately, Polk were the final expressions of 'Jeffersonian' thinking about expansion. Similar in tact they both essentially invented their own mandates and proceeded without consulting or worrying about Congress. They would be very proud of George Bush.

haggis

Oh you need not wait. My children's generation is a lot more self involved and ruthless than we are. If you don't serve their needs, you are kicked to the curb. I fully expect to drop in the harness under the lash of my younger overlords eventually.

Did you hear that Holland wants to end parental rights for the handicapped

In a rule of law that is awesome in its awesomeness, the Netherlands is moving to strip parental rights and to FORCE them to take birth control, from the mentally challenged or whatever they're called now - developmentally challenged?

http://www.disaboom.com/Blogs/disabled_politico/archive/2008/11/06/dutch-parliament-to-consider-forcing-quot-unfit-mothers-quot-to-take-contraception.aspx

http://www.disaboom.com/Blogs/disabled_politico/archive/2008/05/09/mother-s-day-and-disabled-mothers-fight-for-the-right-to-bear-children.aspx

The really charming part is the abstract way one is deemed 'unfit'. It's more or less whatever someone wants to call it.

And the Prop-8 gays were angry that we're stripping them of certain civil rights here? That's nothing compared to shiny happy forced sterilization.

I am supposed to get angry at being judged by people younger that I

Who I helped rear. But I really don't care what you think and I don't worry about it in the least. At least to the extent that I have to listen to it. Oh soon enough you'll be running things and the generations after you will want to snuff you out and tell you of their own heroism in doing so. And you won't really care what stupidity pours out of them either.

But you see 'boomers' have lived an entire life surrounded by too many others. We're way more brutally Darwinian than you ever will be. You've never had to. I think the rumors of our demise are exaggerated and will be so for a few more years to come.

What's that line from the Vorlon ambassador in Babylon 5?

"The avalanche has already begun. It is too late for the pebbles to vote."

Hey here's an idea

If you're under 40, stop fucking complaining already and do better than we did.

You should hear Alice Walker railing against Obama

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/guest_contributors/article5092964.ece

Of course she used to compare him to Fidel Castro

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/sep/20/uselections2008.barackobama

Awesome in its craziness.

What, do you think male hookers are cheap to keep on retainer?

Cmon just look at the guy.

Mid next year

It will turn out that Rather was 100% correct and Bush was absolutely caught in a felony charge with his no-show ANG 'job' to avoid going to Nam. It will turn out that Rather will have proved his case that Bush was a draft dodger and Rove and company covered up this felony for political purposes. It will turn out that the shitheads re elected a coward and a criminal in 2004.

Of course by mid next year, Bush will be living in Abu Dhabi.

Original article: Obama's designated a--hole

Really?

We do we still let Jews vote in America. I thought Obama would tackle that problem right away. Send them all packing with their little yellow stars toot-sweet. For the good of the party.

I love the way Salon let's stand the comments of Holocaust deniers

And then specifically deletes comments directed at the shallowness of some of the columnists. At least they're being upfront about what they believe.

Friday, November 7, 2008 12:08 PM

How do you know he voted?

The LAW doesn't say you can't RUN, anyway.
