Hey Anonymous
[Read the article: Why I'm still not for Hillary Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]There's an awful lot of trolls posting anti-obama messages anonymously. And if you can't see the difference between voting not to leave our soldiers in the lurch when in the middle of a war, and voting to start the war in the first place, then you are an idiot.
With that out of the way, great post Frances. The reason I oppose Hillary has nothing to do with gender, her looks or even her personality (although the last doesn't help).
The fact is, the Clintons had plenty of opportunity to establish their progressive bona fides over the last fifteen years, and they instead opted for policies friendly to large corporations and socially conservative Americans nearly every time.
The Republicans are staggering, and we have an opening to put a true progressive in the White House, and pull the pendulum back to the left. I just don't see Hillary Clinton exploiting this opportunity.

What I Find Hilarious And/Or Depressing...
[Read the article: More about race and the Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]..is that Hillary seems to be getting away with her bullshit claims that, because Obama hasn't opposed funding the Iraq War, he's just as guilty as her of it being waged.
Any sensible person knows that this war is a horrible, horrible mistake, yet, now that we're mired in it, our options are severely limited.
And I hope that Obama is able to make that point clear to upcoming primary voters. I also hope he's able to stop all of these claims about hidden racism, as they are pretty ambiguous and it doens't help his argument that his campaign is trying to transcend these tired old divisions.
Finally, the next time this she makes the bullshit claim about 35 years of experience, call her on it. Because according to Hillary, time spent being a lawyer in private practice serving the needs of Wal-Mart counts as "fighting for change" on behalf of ordinary Americans. I'm guessing that the millions of Americans who have lost their manufacturing jobs due to Wal-Mart's reliance on Chinese suppliers would not agree that she was working for change on their behalf.

What's Really Funny...
[Read the article: The Kucinich court decision and "judicial activism"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...is that the principle that allows Kucinich's case to proceed in state court (i.e., state courts have general jurisdiction while federal courts' jurisdiction is limited) is one of the purest examples of federalism in our entire system of government. If the rightwing had (choose one: basic reasoning capability, intellectual honesty, ability to read and/or think), they would be cheering Kucinich's lawsuit as an example of how the poor little states can restrict the actions of the big, bad federal government.
Of course, as Glenn so capably points out, adherence to anything resembling logical consistency or principle is not the rightwingers' goal.

Sorry, Gary
[Read the article: The race vs. gender war]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Let's stop squabbling and elect the best nominee."
Won't happen. Hillary's not going down unless she takes every viable Democrat for the foreseeable future down with her.

maureenodonnell = Hillary Shill
[Read the article: Dolores Huerta: "Como se llama" Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I see your pro-hillary, anti-Obama distortions all over this website. You're either a plant or a moron.
Apparently, you only started to pay attention to American politics during this primary season. Since you missed it, and you're worried about Obama's warmongering tendencies, let me clue you in on a little secret:
HILLARY CLINTON HAS ALREADY VOTED TO START ONE POINTLESS WAR (IRAQ) - AND SHE HAS AGITATED TO START ANOTHER (IRAN).
Hope that helps. Now go away.

maureenodonnell...
[Read the article: Dolores Huerta: "Como se llama" Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Brewmn, you might consider taking a few night classes in history, current affairs, English and perhaps acquire an extra something-or- other for taking a course in manners"
You might consider minding your own business, particularly when you claim you are just seeking information you can easily look up yourself, yet continue to perpetuate vicious smears about an American politician with your faux doe-eyed innocent posturing.

Exhibit A Against Hillary
[Read the article: Paris goes big for Hillary Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Is that a poster here wrote:
"Then he played "I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one" when he accepted his Iowa win."
That this baldfaced lie could gain traction among Democrats, or if Hillary supporters are willing to perpetuate this lie, it strongly suggests that Hillary is in fact following a conscious strategy to marginalize Obama by making him the "black candidate." Of course, she is also marginalizing the Dems' most loyal constituency in the process.
But then, the Clintons have never been shy about flogging blacks when it served their political purposes. Think Sister Souljah, who has never been heard of before or since Bill Clinton attacked her her as a campaign stunt, and of course, the ultimate sellout of poor blacks, welfare "reform".
The Clintons are using campaign tactics (including using a former president as attack dog against a fellow Dem) that are rendering them unfit for the nomination. If they want a win this badly, they may just have to get it without my support.

Glenn's Being Deliberately Obtuse
[Read the article: Barack Obama: "Committed Christian -- Called to Bring Change"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Huckabee has come out and explicitly said that he would seek to amend the constitution to align with biblical principles. Obama supports abortion rights and equal right for gays. The two can't be fairly compared.
You post should be about how unfortunate it is that candidates in general have to affirm their religious bona fides, and that Obama in particular has to defend against charges that he is a Muslim.
Instead, you, much like Paul Krugman, choose to distort context and cherry pick quotes to slam a politician whose liberal/progressive credentials are the equal of or superior to any of the other major candidates.
I just don't get the intense dislike of Obama in large swaths of the left. You'd think he'd voted to start a phony war that has destroyed our standing abroad, and possibly oru domestic economy or something. Oh wait, both the other major Democratic candidates have. I guess that now qualifies as old news.

Love Your Choice of Star Posters
[Read the article: Endorsing Obama, Kennedy goes after the Clintons]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]On one of Tim's last entries about Obama's huge win in SC, there were seven stars - 4 pro-Hillary, three pro-Obama. On this one, the only star poster is someone who is bragging about some Kennedy nobody's ever heard of endorsing Hillary in a post about the most famous living Kennedy's endorsement of Obama.

Waters' Words Are Straight...
[Read the article: Who's Hillary Clinton's supersecret special mystery endorser?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...from the Clinton camp's mouth. Seriously:
"we need someone with the leadership and experience"?
When has Hillary LED on anything?
