I would really like to know what actually goes on during labor and delivery. It seems to be really glossed over, described as a miracle, or perhaps as a difficult but rewarding, rich life experience. Maybe if it became more common knowledge that babies are generally preceded by shit, that birth is actually bloody, excruciating, terrifying and dangerous, that it can drag on for over 24 hours, our society would look upon it less as some sacred womanly rite and more as something that nobody should have to go through against their will.
You ask that every woman should just shut up and change her name to placate her man, just because it makes you feel insecure. I would never marry such a man who felt emasculated by my not taking his name. Just like I'd never marry a man who felt emasculated by cooking dinner or taking care of his own child. What a wenis.
Has this ever happened before, that a former US VP would not only publicly criticize the sitting pres, but also come out publicly to criticize his own pres? I've never heard of a veep being so narcissistic, he should get his own reality TV show.
I enjoyed witnessing Hillary go off on someone a little. I wish more politicians had the balls to tell people how they really feel.
These people are the reason why we should have the right to bear arms. These people are the reason why we should all own guns, to defend ourselves from them when they finally come completely unhinged and get tired of trampling on Democracy by screaming and tearing up posters, and start doing it by shooting up doctors and police and museums and churches, and .. oh wait, they've already started doing that. If these people are getting ready for war, who do you think they're going to fight? We, the people. Buy yourself a gun and a gun safe, bring it down to the police station, register it, and get training on how to clean, load and shoot it, and on the gun laws.
No offense man, but twice I've gone to see movies that got good reviews on Salon and found them to be very disappointing. I'm excited about downloading this bootleg and watching it, now that it's gotten the thumbs down from a Salon article. It should be awesome!
I have no intention of watching this show. Salon writers also recommended A Prairie Home Companion and Public Enemies, two of the most boring movies I've ever seen.

Goodbye to a US traitor!
Good for him.
I've watched a lot of porn, and I worry about the impression young men and women may get from it about what's normal. I'm not talking about the weird stuff, even the vanilla porn I've seen made in the US tends to contain only positions and acts that please a circumcised man. It took me a while to figure out what would make me come, because I couldn't find it in the media... the positions they get in on pornos never really do it for me. And when I've seen cunnilingus in porn it's always been super-aggressive and looked more like it would hurt than anything. It took a while for me to feel comfortable asking for what I needed in bed, because I felt selfish and I felt kind of like what I wanted to do was weird. I've seen some European porn that looked like more fun, maybe because men with foreskin are a lot more sensitive and respond more to the things a woman needs, like pelvic grinding, and they need less thrusting for friction, which can be really annoying and has never led me to an orgasm.
I don't understand what they are raising money for. Is this money to give to the congresspeople so that they will do their jobs of representing the people? The money isn't going to raise public awareness, or create ads on TV, or to an informational campaign of any sort. The money is going to be paid to the congress people to encourage them to do their jobs. Right? Can someone explain why this is a good idea to give them my money?
I really needed to read this. I am guilty of dismissing people out of hand and assuming they're racists. I see the error of my ways and I'm going to donate to media matters dot org and keep my judgmental mouth shut.
"the fact remains that tens of millions of viewers watch him of a nightly basis"
Actually his viewership is a little over 2 million. To come out dressed as an SS soldier or whatever, after he's already getting a lot of his ads pulled, I predict that his days on the air are numbered.
Is Thadeus Crumb your ex husband?
There are men who never make the team or win the prize either. We don't cry about how unfair it is for them, and how smaller or less strong men are discouraged from sports. And why is it men are normally faster and stronger than women? Could it be because they are encouraged to train harder from the start, they're expected to weight train and to compete against other men? I'm sick of the fact that women are relegated to the minor leagues or to their own sports ghetto and can never prove themselves against men. So what if that means that some women won't be performing as well in comparison? Do you think our daughters would really be so discouraged as to not participate in sports? Especially as children, males aren't bigger and stronger than females. It can only lead to feelings of greater respect and equality if they can play together and compete.
