  • Still wrong priorities

[Read the article: We've all got our priorities]

True, the Iraq war doesn't necessarily demand tunnel vision against other concerns. It is just that video game violence isn't really one of them.

It's not that Hill and Joe are interested in investigating video game violance to determine if they affect violence in children, it is that they called a press conference to demonstrate how much they are against video game violence. The Hill and Joe show was just that, a show designed to burnish their images as family values center of the road type people.

We've seen this before. Violence in Hollywood, violence on TV, violence in rock music (remember Tipper Gore?), now violence in video gaming, though even this began a decade ago. But like all other crusades before, it is self serving act of looking like they care by creating a bogey man then grandstanding for hearings and actions they know have no chance in hell of succeeding due to First Amendment concerns. The goal isn't even about determining if video game violence really does cause real violence. That decision was made before the press conference and with no regard for actuall research. It's not the issue, image is the issue.

This is the real priority problem I have with Hill and Joe. Hold a press conference on the environment, on health care, on the economy, on an education that helps kids believe in a future and have one, on fair taxation, the budget, better support for the troops, fine. Although this sounds like a better time to keep the heat on Bush to make real changes in Iraq policy.

Want to pretend you are a kinder gentler more caring James Dobson? Keep looking like just another self serving politician.

Forget the Stewart/Colber 08 shirts. It's time to seriously crank out the "Re-elect Al Gore 08" shirts.

  • Thanks for sharing that tidbit, George

Now I know what happened to all those reports about the risks and dangers of invading Iraq, the prewar planning reports and the early reports of a growing insurgency. Still waiting to be read in the Presidential bathroom, or have you been using them to steady some wobbly table in the cabinet meeting room?

  • And in other news

Mary Cheney announced that she would have earlier announced that her father Dick was the father of her child, but she didn't want to give the Democrats an issue to attack Republicans for promoting incest.

  • And now for something completely different

We break away from the usual corrupt and soulless Republican story to give you this late breaking report:

Augusto Pinochet is finally still dead. We look forward to continuing reports from the MSM about how Augusto Pinochet is still dead; particularly since like most of his miserablre 'rot in hell' life, he had the nerve to die on a weekend.

Eat shit and die you miserable son of a bitch. Rot in hell fuckwad. Spend eternity being fucked up the ass while giving head to the thousands of decent law abiding citizens you murdered like some insecure penis less Hitler of banana republics. Glory in your great rise to power all thanks to ITT, Kissinger and powers beyond your control, and thank yourself for being so simple minded obedient, bloodthirsty and just downright stupid (or as we say in America, Dubya-like) that you were the perfect candidate to rule a third world country and know how to fetch coffee for your true masters.

Fuck you you fucking fuck. My only hope is your family and rabid and equally blind followers meet the same fate.

Of course, if we want to truly erect a tribute to such a grand genocidal mental midget let us begin the war crimes trials now and hang everyone in America and Chile that had anything to do with this abortion of "the good side in the Cold War."

Oh, fuck you Pinochet and all your fucking spawn. Fuck you too, Kissinger. Do me a favor and totally screw up Iraq while your at it. You fucking fuck.

  • Those the gods would destroy

They first let them announce their candidacy during an NFL game.

Bobby Kennedy spent half his life in the political arena and a part of it as an attorney general risking his life going after the mob. He lost his brother, a president, and risked his own political life turning on the Vietnam War before anyone but those the media dubbed "fringe" had done so. When Martin Luther King died, he risked his life going into a black neighborhood and standing in front of a black audience and gave a speech that only his speaking could do to create the only city with a black minority that didn't erupt in violence.

Barak ran against a token black talk show host from Maryland. He wrote a nice vanity book about Hope and otherwise has accomplished absolutely nothing to make him presidential material. Bush at least owned a baseball team, served on the boards or ran a business and was a governor. Don't you think its time to put an end to the high cost of lowered expectations.

I like Obak Barama. I like the fact Dubya confused a campaign button for him with Osama. But I would really like to see what he does stand for, what real ideas, not hopeful ideals, he has to offer. I'm sick of living on hopeful ideals and empty platitudes. Unless this guy has a real plan for taking this nation forward (and he doesn't) he is no better than Hillary.

Al Gore again in 08, or prove him wrong.

  • Dangerously he doesn't get it

The military is what you use to solve a military problem. It is not what you rely on to solve your political problems.

But then, we know that. Dubya, does not.
