  • Newsflash to Hillary Apologists...

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's long strange journey on Iraq]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

She was NOT up for re-election in 2002...she did NOT have to buckle under peer-pressure from the Bush Administration (or her constituents, post-9/11), and if she really believed in her current line of rhetoric, she should have voted with her heart back when the war vote came up in Congress...

But alas, she did none of these things...and no matter how much Joan Walsh or any of the incessant HRC supporters on the Salon staff lament about it, Hillary voted FOR THE WAR. You cannot change that fact. And to further claim (as Hillary has) that Congress was duped into voting for this is just f-ing ridiculous. The paperwork was all right there, the nagging doubts were plain as can be.

I wish Paul Mooney's Negrodamus prediction that Bush knew Saddam had weapons of mass destruction "because he has the receipt" was true...but unfortunately, that wasn't the case...and any FOOL in elected office could have seen that there was a significant amount of doubt about this claim before casting their vote on this war, including Sen. Clinton...

And yes, I am calling Hillary a fool...if Joan Walsh wants to call Obama supporters names (Obamatons), then I think my retort is entirely appropriate (and probably more accurate)...

  • Speaking of superdelegates, I just read an article that might ease the pain of this whole nomination process...

Check out this article link from one of the undecided superdelegates, Democratic Gov. Philip Bredesen...he suggests once the primaries are over that all of the superdelegates get together and caucus in early June to cast their final votes. Doing so will seal the nomination process before the August convention, thereby sparing all of us 2 more months of useless bickering between the candidates before the convention...and to give Dems time to cool off before the REAL campaign begins.

Here's the link...start clamoring your local Democratic congressman/woman or senator to push for this (or I guess call or email the DNC, if you can somehow get through)...

  • Joan Walsh...HRC Hack Writer

[Read the article: Moving beyond Obama and race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yes Joan, keep inserting more doubt where there is none...Keep kicking Obama down because your precious Hillary can't seal the deal, warts and all...

You know...it appears to me that the Hillary supporters (like Joan) are not really opposed to Obama because he's black...they oppose him because he's young. In fact, he kinda represents the young idealism (something typically lacking in for most Gen Xers) that Baby Boomers are so quick to remind us about when they're waxing nostalgic about the Chicago 8, or Woodstock...but now it is THEY that are the bitter old foggies trying to rain on the younger voters' parade to the White House. Yes, shame on us for not being cynical about politics like THEM...

Sure Joan, lets bicker about the "typical white" language used by Obama in his speech, taken completely out of context by HRC supporters as something we need to be afraid of...because white folk couldn't POSSIBLY vote for someone black who spoke like that, could they?

But the facts are the facts...Hillary is NOT going to win this time, not never, not no how...the Boomer Generation has had it's chance with Bush and Bill Clinton...NO MORE. The sooner you get used to it Joan, the better...

Oh I'm sorry...I was suppose to not be hear...adios Salon...I'll go to Slate instead, the coverage at least TRIES to be more unbiased...

Note to Boomers, from the X and Y Generations..."If I hear Kumbaya one more time..."

"where in the world is barack obama?

on a beach in the virgin islands.

where in the world is hillary clinton?

making proposals on how to help our failing economy.

i know who i'd rather have as president.

    -- sonofloud"

Yep...making proposals that Obama (and others) have already made.

Your comparison here is more proof that Hillary Clinto = Flick from "The Election." I hate Flick.

BTW, maybe you can go join Hillary when she goes on her vacation in the Virgin Islands...after losing the nomination...

"Also, FYI Obama supporters, HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON is leading among Democratic voters (i.e. taking out independent and Republican votes) by 700,000 votes AND this does not include FL or MI"

Uh...I believe OBAMA has a 700,000 vote lead over Hillary

"According to Real Clear Politics, Obama leads Clinton by slightly more than 700,000 votes after 40-plus primary elections. That number drops to just over 400,000 when including Florida's results (in Michigan Obama was not on the ballot)."

    From Huffington Post

I'm not sure where you get that info., but even if it is true, you are discounting (or to use Hillarite language, "disenfranchising") a part of the population that nevertheless voted for Obama because they believed in him...BTW some of those folks also voted for Hillary...do you think their votes shouldn't count as well?

Sorry...but your tirade holds no water...except to other delusional HRC supporters...

And you come from my state?

  • Well...

This excerpt doesn't really hold my interest...in fact, judging from the write-up on Amazon, it's quite possibly the least interesting pick of the vignettes referenced in the editorial reviews.

Sloane, if you had posted an excerpt about the "Bring Your Machete To Work Day" story, I think we might have gotten a better taste of just what kind of "biting" humor your book really may have. But if this is the best excerpt you can pick, it doesn't bode well.

But remember folks, this is not John Adams biographical quality stuff here...of course, it doesn't need to be, and Sex-and-the-City-esque writing does have an audience...but this excerpt really doesn't motivate me to cross over and step into that other world.
