  • Walter Shapiro....Hillary Clinton's Gadfly

[Read the article: Let 'em duke it out]

Sure Waldo, this is all good for the Democratic party, so long as Hillary some how steals the nomination in the end...

Opps, sorry, Joan Walsh has the Hillary Gadfly-Of-The-Year, for suggesting that we should change the election rules in mid-stream...again, in favor of Hillary. I guess I'll have to think of some other award for you...later...

You know, Obama was doing much better after my (admittedly short) self-imposed exile...I think it's time to leave Salon again for a while...I'll just go to www.theroot.com or slate.com and hang out there. Salon's persistent cries in support of the "Yes she can" candidate are just sad and well beyond the realm of bias and reason. But then again, when did reason ever matter to the power-hungry Clintons, or her fan club.

To you Hillary supporters, I'll do something for you that the devil won't do...I'll leave you all alone on this petty site for a while...

  • To my smart-ass reply to Clinton supporters that to hell with rules, what rules, they don't matter...

"No, David L., they do not

    Winning matters.

    -- cythera45 "

Tnx. cythera45...you just confirmed my arguement about Hillary supporters fighting to win at whatever cost, crushing any opposition that exists in the party (in this primary, that beez Obama)...

You know what, go ahead, let's seat the FL and MI delegates...and lets have Ann Richards' ghost preside over the convention in Denver, because as we all know, she would have voted for Hillary if she were alive. Yep, in fact FDR just walked in, he supports Hillary too. Lets seat the Bryan delegates from the 1896 Democratic Convention (I hear the Gold Standard ain't so popular with the party this year...long live the Silver Standard)...Yes, nevermind the laws of nature or time...what rules, we don't have to stick to them, we're the Hillary Clinton Democratic Party. We can make up the rules as we go!

You are all suckers falling for the Clinton's con game...if I weren't so dedicated to Obama, I'd wish Hillary would win just to see the Clintons get stomped into political oblivion forever this November (because like it or not, McCain will make that happen if she wins). Then Obama can run in 2012...

  • I'm breaking my self-imposed exile just this once...

To finally tell all you Hillary supporters out there what my wife loves to say to people that really fuck up something wicked...

    "You reap what you sow."

Or, a more appropriate phrase from my father-in-law would be:

"You made your bed, now you gotta sleep in it."

Hillary and Bill will do whatever they can to win, and they will use surrogates to say ANYTHING to try to derail Obama's campaign. Granted, Obama is using surrogates to do the dirty work for his campaign too, but at least he doesn't have to convince his supporters to ruin their reputations just for the sake of getting the 1st. black person in the White House.

You folks claiming that she has a point are COMPLETELY seeing a bunch of trees while missing the forrest right in front of you. This Ferraro comment was NOT an accident, yall...it was a cold and calculated move to try to play the race card without looking obvious about it...and lookey what happened, everyone with at least half a brain in this country saw right through it.

And to all you over-50 feminists that have struggled for decades against a male-dominated society...I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your hard work to close the gender gap for women in our society. Ann Richards and Barbara Jordan would be proud of you...but do you have to scorch the entire f'ing surface of the earth to make sure you get "one of your own" in the White House? Isn't making a difference for today's women enough? Or do you really think the Democratic Party OWES this moment in history to your precisious Hillary Clinton?

Someone joked about the Hell's Grannies crashing the convention in Denver earlier in this forum...I think that's an entirely appropriate characterization of that audience, judging from the shrill objections these ladies constantly made at the Democratic caucus I sat thru last week. The funniest thing about all of this is that as Hillary and her advocates get more desperate, you'll probably be seeing more and more of this crazy shit happening...and despite it all, Obama hasn't lost his cool yet...at least not like Ferraro.

Honestly, I might have joined on the Hillary Clinton Road to of Inevitability Tour at one time, were it not for the fact that the Clintons have bungled their goddamn campaign for months now, just barely snatching themselves from the jaws of defeat at just the right time...against someone that actually has more to say about our future potential as a country, as opposed to just making promises about protecting us from future threats, making veiled promises to help this constituency or that. Bush has been giving us that lie for YEARS now, why would I want to spend another 4 years hearing the same thing...from Hillary?

  • FYI, there's a good article about precisely what I was getting at in my last post..

    Go to:

    http://www.slate.com/id/2186553/

You'll find an article that is proof in the pudding about the latent racism that's seething in this debate about Obama and his rise to prominence...and why Ferraro's persistent crise of "I'm not racist" are bullshit...

Thank goodness most everyone under the age of 30 is (mostly) picking Obama in this race...win or lose, we'll at least know that we picked him because we LIKE the guy and what he sez... not because of his race...

If this were Nancy Pelosi, or ANY other woman running on her own accomplishments, I would have sincerely taken a closer look at them as a candidate running against Obama...but because it's another Clinton running for president, she will never get my vote...NEVER.

This isn't about her gender, folks...it's about the Clintons and what they represent...
