No, java mama, you got it all wrong..
[Read the article: Giuliani's Christian-right foes to meet again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"The thing that I find is most people show anger when they are afraid that they are wrong. "
Unfortunately, your smug self-righteousness is what angers independent-thinking people on Salon the most...the fact that you are so CERTAIN that you are right, in the face of so much evidence that everything has gone wrong with this country over the last 7 years...the fact that we are truely NOT better off now than we were under 8 years of Clinton...the fact that religious people have the temerity to pass judgement on so many non-believers in this country (there's that casting-the-first-stone-business again...geesh, consistency, everyone...).
You are right about one thing...we are definitely projecting our anger at the likes of you, after years of having to tolerate the Christian right's constant braying about how things would be so much better, if we just had "one of our own" in the White House. Well, ask and ye shall receive...your 8 year experiment is just about over. Now it's our turn again...
That's why I laugh at these so-called 3rd. party attempts by Family Res. Council, Focus on the Family, etc...it's all bullshit, they just want to appear to be flexing their muscle to their own besotted followers...and it's not as if they are a unified Army of God, though they certainly would like for all of us to believe that. If they leave because Giuliani wins the nod, then they truely do believe in their own hype...and we'll get to see the real Subway Series this Fall of 2008.
BTW, don't pray for us folks out here on Salon, you got more important things to ask from God...pray for our troops to come home, pray for the poor sick children that may no longer be covered by S-CHIP, pray for our youth so that they stop killing each other on the streets...you know, pray for the important stuff...I sometimes think Christians say shit like that just to make us feel bad...but what if we all prayed more for the IMPORTANT things in life instead? Some of our big problems might go away...but maybe they don't because folks want to pray for the souls of Salon letterwriters instead, which is kind of a waste of time. I can just hear God now..."What, you again? Don't you have more important things to beseech me with?"

Sorry Bluemarks man, you're right...
[Read the article: Giuliani's Christian-right foes to meet again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"The only flaw there is you're assuming that fundamentalist "christian" Americans are anything but smugly self righteous & don't constantly condemn others that are as narrow minded as they are, & are actually concerned about or would do much about the health & well being of others. They can't do that, why that's someting that Christ might do!"
You're absolutely right...I was just trying to give java mama something more constructive to do...knowing them, they probably prayed for my soul last night...little did they know, I was praying too...for Cleveland to finish out the ALCS, but oh well, guess my prayers weren't important enough either...

This just in from the Hillary Campaign staff...
[Read the article: How the Christian right could defeat Rudy -- and make Hillary president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]To: GOP Base
From: Hillary Clinton
Dear Sir or Madam,
BBWWWAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
Watching this schism is just shear delight. Karl Rove's greatest nightmare is about to come to fruition...it's like watching Charlton Heston getting hosed down in Planet of the Apes..."IT'S A MAD-HOUSE!!!" Hell, Charlton Heston is probably screaming that right now anyway...
Good times...

Well...the book cover is flattering, but...
[Read the article: Fair Plame]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The other profile picture on the Salon site makes her look like Nurse Hatchet from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...

Another slamdunk...and Cary read your psychological profile like a book!
[Read the article: An elderly salesman terrorized me in front of my kids!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Most times I read these summaries and I see f'ed up situations that I would have CLEARLY handled differently myself, then asked "Why did they do that?" Well, Cary really redeemed himself in this one, and practically showed the LW's entire psychological/mental "wiring" in one sustinct summary.
And this isn't just something women are suspect to, men are just as guilty in different situations, or older folks that don't like to question bad service...whatever the case may be. But there are times when inappropriate behavior needs to be called to the mat, and this was one of those times...Guido or not. I shutter to think what kind of passive behavior might have been demonstrated in front of the kids in the past, with your ex or anyone else for that matter.
Frankly, the guy is lucky my wife hadn't invited them over...the phrase "Go stand out in the yard while I load my shotgun...go on, I told" would have been uttered in the 1st. 5 minutes of this conversation.
As to whether this is a con or not? I don't know, a lot of assumptions by the LW are being made, and other folks are making assumptions on top of that. But Cary was right not to even address that here, because the BIG problem was the LW's inability to stand up to borish (and possibly damaging) behaviors...in her OWN GODDAMN HOUSE, no less...
