  • WAKE UP !!

[Read the article: "Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The sad fact is that if the silent majority doesn't wake the f*ck up and vote this November, we'll once again be at the mercy of these crazy bastards. Remember the "unsinkable" Titanic... It wasn't only an iceberg that sunk that ship - it was complacency. Right now, the people of this country are dangerously complacent. These "religious" lunatics must be stopped. They are as extreme and more dangerous than any terrorist out there. The bizarre thing about all of this is that if any of them really read the Bible, they would see that everything they're trying to accomplish is EVERYTHING Jesus spoke out against. What the hell is next? Burning women and cats at the stake??

  • CGI elaborates, experience suffers.

    [Read the article: "Poseidon"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Even though they're still "fun", disaster flicks still ask the moviegoer to stretch his imagination. In the original 1972 "The Poseidon Adventure", you know the wave is fake - not because it looks fake (actually, it looks like and IS a real wave), but because of the obvious consequences of filming a 50 foot "rouge" wave coming at you at 100 mph. But in "Poseidon", you know the wave is fake because it LOOKS fake.

Another example: The tornado in "The Wizard Of Oz" compared with the tornados of "Twister". CGI created the "Twister" effects and even though they are much more elaborate, they look much, MUCH more fake, thereby making the moviegoer feel "safer", inherently lessening the effect.

So I guess that is the trade off - CGI can give you much more elaborate effects than actual filming, but for me, the price is too high. Imagination and artistically brilliant film making are much more powerful (and terrifying) than ANYTHING CGI can mimick.

I don't understand the big deal...the Bible IS fiction, so again, what's the issue?

  • Of course...

...hate, fear, intolerance, selfishness NEVER last for very long. It's always just been a matter of time.

  • So Long, Farewell...

[Read the article: Series wrap-up: "Will & Grace"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Eventhough I had stopped watching the show for the past year or so (mainly because of Will and Grace's destructive behavior towards each other), I have to comment on how much I feel that the show was a vehicle for more acceptance of the gay community.

As much as the Will and Grace characters "got on my nerves", I need to remember that they were the ideal vehicle for Jack and Karen to ride.

    That's a TV first.

Besides, I'd watch just to see Rosario and Karen rip each other "new ones". ;)

    Dear Al,

With all due respect, to blame the "ineptitude to deal with the terrorists" on Clinton is ridiculous. Clinton was able to capture, persecute and imprison the perpetrators of those attacks on the WTC. Clinton's administration sat down with the new administration to brief them on "where they were" in regards to the growing issue of terrorism, which was ignored by the Bush administration.

With the threats of terrorism growing (due to our country's oil-based foreign policy in the middle east, no thanks to George, Sr.), Bush and his marionettes did nothing. Bush himself went on a vacation binge - taking more time away in one term than the unprescedented amount Reagan took in two terms.

I'm no fan of Kerry or Gore, but if Clinton's administration had been followed by Gore's administration, this country would have at least taken steps to alter events which may have had us all living in a world today where 9/11/01 wasn't synonymous with terror.

So, I've thought for a minute (more actually) and can honestly say that, based on actual facts, "it" would be much better, not worse, if Gore's presidency wasn't handed over to Bush.

  • Shame on ABC

Ah, Pat.... once again using fear to further his own cause. Not to mention the outright lie, "when you send $20 per month to the 700 Club, you're saying you care..."

Shame on ABC Family Channel for keeping that insane, hate-filled, racist on the air.

  • Hilarious!

  • Huh ?

It's not a phase - it's the result of poor parenting. Who's the parent and who's the child? It seems the "sweet boy" who doesn't respect his mother is the one who's in control. I think Anne needs to watch "The Dog Whisperer" instead of CNN...

  • LOL !

34 pages of "letters"? My mistake - great work Anne !!! ;) ...by the way, I'm still laughing about the word, "fucktard". HILARIOUS !! (but not appropriate...let's keep this mature and stop name calling. Thank you and goodnight.)

  • Funny...

  • Are you serious?

[Read the article: Can I kill a cat if it poops in my yard?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Kill a cat? Is your last name 'Manson'? The Golden Rule applies here - how would you like some asshole neighbor to kill YOUR pet?

  • Hey - future cat killer....

[Read the article: Can I kill a cat if it poops in my yard?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It's not a cat shitting in your yard...

Cat's have a natural, instinctual method to their shitting. All cats, are lone hunters. Therefore, when a cat "shits', it will cover it's feces in order to remain "stealth", so no other predator can track it. Plus, cats, being territorial, will seldom "shit" in the same place repeatedly - this is a behavior a dog would do, not a cat.

The fact remains that if you would seriously consider killing someone's pet, a defensless animal or whatever, then you have much bigger issues than animal feces in your yard.

FYI - Jeffrey Dahmer used to kill cats. Look where and how he ended up. Seek help, immediately.
