Uh... attention all stupid people.
[Read the article: O'Reilly beats WalMart into submission]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The origin of the term, "Happy Holidays" was NOT due to religious beliefs, freedoms, political correctness, etc. The term "Happy Holidays" began because, as Mr. O'Reilly's lack of intelligence proves, New Years Day is one week away from Christmas and instead of everyone saying, "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" it was shortened to "Happy Holidays".
The divisive right-wing pundits and propagandists of this country have twisted this topic, made it news when it really isn't, to further divide and diminish the religious beliefs of minorities. It's all part of their 'divide and conquer' philosophy.
Not to mention - if you ask any religious fanatic/evangelical, they will tell you that Christmas is a pagan holiday which should be abolished.
So, it's not "liberals" who are making an issue, it's the right wing-pundits and the crazy evangelical nuts who are making an issue out of Happy Holidays and Christmas.

Fergie has been singing???
[Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Last I saw Fergie, she was doing commercials for Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers or something like that... When the hell did she start singing? and why? Is British Royalty allowed to have singing careers? Has anyone heard her voice? Is it any good?
I can't even begin to imagine.....
-
Uh..... hello? Anyone?
[Read the article: Don't like Christmas? Get a life]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]FYI - The way we, as a country, celebrate Christmas has NOTHING to do with Christianity. Christmas isn't a religious holiday, it's a pagan holiday. Christmas Trees, lights, wreaths, presents, food, etc., are all pagan rituals. Ask ANY evangelist. They'll tell you that Christmas should be banned(and are probably consulting w. Bush, on a weekly basis - well, between drug dealings and anal sex with male prostitutes - to make Christmas illegal).
So, Christian symbolism is only the Manger Scene, which you rarely see at all anymore.

GO VANYA !!
[Read the article: Don't like Christmas? Get a life]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]My correction - Vanya hit it HEAD ON !!! and Vanya, you're right. Salon readers are supposed to be smarter than that.

Here's the deal...
[Read the article: Baker group to recommend "pullback"; Bush rejects timetables]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]George Bush is holding the USA hostage, keeping our men and women in Iraq until he leaves office and possibly a Democratic president takes over. Then, because Iraq is such a major disaster, when he leaves office and the troops come home, the proverbial "shit" will hit the fan, CNN and FOXNews can blame the new administration for whatever happens and "Dubya" will be able to protect his legacy.
This is what Bush is trying to accomplish. Leave it to the wounded Republican party to pull any stunt, to keep our troops in harms way so that the Bush loyalists can live the rest of their lives, conveniently, in their current state of denial.
-
Once again
[Read the article: The madness of George]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]George Bush is buying time. He must keep the war going and here's why: He and his base of loyalists will wait until his term is up, the new administration will move in and withdraw troops. If it all goes to hell, the Bush loyalists will scream, "told you so!" If it all goes well and favorable, the loyalists to Bush will credit Dubya with doing the ground work. Either way, by keeping the war going until the end of his term, any outcome will preserve the legacy of this man.
The only thing that could harm his legacy is if he admitted defeat and withdrew the troops BEFORE his term is up.
So you see, the only interest is to preserve the George W. Bush legacy at any cost, the highest of course being the young men and women who have given their lives and the ones who will give their lives until January 2008, for nothing more than the legacy of a man who lied this country into war.
Hey Bush, what's it called when you kill people?
-
what the ????
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Bush has failed miserably and then proceeds to joke about it in front of the Press Corps ! Has this idiot Hadley forgotten the 'cute little skit' Bush performed in front of the Press Corps titled, "where are those pesky WMD's" ?????
Why is this mudering, lying bastard still in office?

First of all, Congratulations to Mary and Heather...
[Read the article: Littlest Cheney will have two mommies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Secondly, whether Mary, Heather and the little one like it, they are all three going to become the 'poster children' for the gay marriage issue. And according to Mary's past statements, she isn't going to be happy about it, which of course, is a shame. Here is a wonderful opportunity for the Vice President to say and/or do something decent. However, Dick will no doubtedly glady offer his dark, cowardly soul to the extreme right-wing base.
What does it say about family values, that the Vice President will most likely not stand up for his own family? What does it say about how much Mr. Cheney values his own grandchild that he will most likely not change his views, in a desperate quest to remain faithful to his partisan constituency ??? Please, Mr. Cheney, prove me wrong.
However,I have a feeling that once again, just like the example of Rev. Haggard, the Republican's will show proof that hypocrisy is the platform of the right-wing agenda.

Wrong, Laurel
[Read the article: Littlest Cheney will have two mommies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Just because someone donated sperm does NOT automatically make them suitable to be the child's 'father'. If two women or two men raise a child together, what difference does it make who is biologically related to the child? By your logic, children that have adoptive parents are less fortunate than ones that have biological parents. This is nothing more than a broad generalization on your part.
PC babble? No, not at all. In fact, I find it quite ridiculous when people decide that the whole concept of political correctness is something to belittle and poke fun at. In fact, the term 'political correctness' is another example of the golden rule, which is: "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you..." (or something like that)
Not a bad phrase to live by, huh? Why don't you try it for a while...

One word to explain the breakdown...
[Read the article: Who's the Bush now?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]... GUILT !
