Never Thought I'd See It

Obama liberals don't give a s. about science though - just all drivel, vitriol and emotion. The days when Liberals were the educated party are clearly as far in the past as the days the Republicans were high class.

I never thought I'd see the day when "liberal" was used within the Democratic party as a slur. I've pretty much sat out the he said/she said flame wars as I've already voted in my state caucus. My preference was by a slim margin and I could happily vote for either Clinton or Obama in the general. That little bit of invective just takes the cake, though. Shawn, that was truly worthy of Elephantman.

BTW - McCain may have been a centrist in 2000, but that was a long time ago and this ain't the same John McCain.

Other Things McBush Needn't Worry About ...

It's pretty simple: if we hold the McCains to the standards set by the Republican Party, today's disclosures by McCain are inadequate and incomplete.

But we all know that's not going to happen, so they needn't worry about it.

Nor does he need to worry about the MSM pointing out his abysmal record in regards to veteran's affairs, or being asked just how his economics policies are actually going to work the way he says they will short of divine intervention.

Use It

People are in a very bad mood because Bush's policies don't work.

And this is the point to hammer. Both Clinton and Obama should be pounding day after day on McCain, they need to frame his policy as an attempt to run away from W, while somehow embracing all the same policies. Hang Shrub around his neck like an albatross.

It's pretty much settled that nobody's going to get enough pledged delegates to win the Democratic nomination outright and the the constant internecine bashing is just providing the McCain campaign with a free laboratory to find out what will stick to the Dem in the general. Clinton, Obama, and their surrogates (including those of us here) need to try to win superdelegates by showing who can do the better job on McCain, not on each other.

McCain's supposed to be tough and tempered, let's see how well he does getting double teamed and hammered day after day on the inanity of his positions. Maybe we'll get to see his famous temper as well.

What're You Gonna Believe?

I suspect that the intersections of the sets of what Dick Cheney says he believes and what he actually believes may be null.

BillyFla - I'm perfectly willing to believe that Cheney can say two diametrically opposite things and be lying both times.

I'll Bet That Scared Them

And if they don't then what, a strongly worded letter?

Reid, Pelosi, et al. are in no position to demand anything of their fellow superdelegates. Maybe the "Leadership" could suggest to the two candidates that their supredelegate vote total will be affected by how well they beat on McCain rather than each other.

A Detrmination Will Get Us What?

As we've found, with this Administration it's one battle to get them to make a determination, it's an entirely different war to get them to actually enforce it.

@Bryan

You beat me to it.

The WVWV story is getting pretty heavy play elsewhere (DK & TPM), but all I here in War Room is the crickets chirping. TPM even has an employee of of WVWV (named Sarah, interestingly enough) chiming in in the comments section doing her level best to defend her organization.

C'mon Alex, better late than never, or do you want to stay scooped. I'm willing to bet that the Clinton connection to the group may be a bit overhyped, but there's at least enough of one to bear some looking into.

Who's Bringing Age Into It?

Obama "used the words 'losing his bearings' intentionally, a not particularly clever way of raising John McCain's age as an issue," Salter said on Friday. "This is typical of the Obama style of campaigning."

Oh Mr. Salter, the only one who raised the issue of age here was you. Far be it from me to offer you advice, but I think that you might not want to point out so vociferously that your candidate is a bit past it. Everyone will notice sooner or later anyway, but why rush it?

@ Ana

I believe that Arlo Guthrie beat Obama to it on the red-suited Commie Santa front.

But really, what could be more Commie than working in a toy-making collective at the North Pole flying around giving presents to all the little girls and boys without expecting anything in return? Ever notice that Santa wears a white beard? He's emulating his idol, Karl Marx.

I'm surprised that Elephantman hasn't denounced and rejected him yet.

Someday, This Might Be A Yawn (I Hope)

I wish this could be a non-story, a "dog-bites-man" in a society where marriage is marriage and the sexes of the participants were of no import. But, I guess we're a ways from that yet.

My wife and I have been married for 32 years and had a lesbian friend asked me why I got so worked up about this issue, thinking I had no dog in the fight. The point is, by allowing the powers-that-be to decide which consenting adults have, or have not, the right to marry, we all cede that right. And I'm not willing to give that to anyone without a fight.

I heard some defense of marriage type woman on the radio this morning in high dudgeon, complaining that the California court's decision classed her along with racists. My response was a simple "And???". If she doesn't want to be treated like a racist, she shouldn't act like one.
