BobTheCar(keyer)

BobTheCarpenter has stated "I key cars with Obama stickers."

What more does one need to know about his intellectual and emotional development?

Regarding Texas secession

Believe it or not, the Texas governor is a bigger dumbass than Bush. He is the very definition of empty suit. He's trying to rile up fellow dumbasses in his coming election battle with Senator Hutchinson. I've lived in Texas most of my life and I've never met anyone who even thought about the issue of secession. There are many repugs here, but their margins of electoral victories are getting smaller in each recent election.

We are a house divided, you know what follows...

Each half of this country calls the other half morons, idiots, or worse. It wasn't always like this. My first vote was for JFK, so I've been around a while.

Reading these letters has gotten too fucking depressing. You folks can keep up the vitriol, I've had it. I quit.

Cult of Personality?

Ever heard of Ronald Reagan, the great communicator (when he was awake)? The right IDOLIZES this man, who hardly knew what day it was the last few years of his term. If Obama looked like, oh let's say Ronnie Reagan, but said and did the same things as he (Obama) has, there would be bitching and moaning from the right, but there would not be the bat-shit crazy lunatic hatred we are now witnessing. Anyone denying this is self-delusional.

Everybody, especially the townhall screamers, need to read this

http://www.greenchange.org/article.php?id=4858

Are we, as a nation, so stupid and/or arrogant that we can't learn something from other functioning systems around the world?

Looks like the answer is yes, sadly.

Grassley is a lying, senile bastard

This morning on Meet the Press, he was asked why he lied about "Death Panels" in his town square address in Iowa. His answer(?!), "I was merely responding to a question" from a woman who was scared. (he said "you should be scared because the govt will decide when to pull the plug on Grandma")

This is his reason for lying? I guess if you don't want to hear him lie, don't ask him any questions.

He was later forced to admit on MTP that there was no Death Panel proposal in any bill.

@didus ineptus

Can you provide a Gibberese-to-English dictionary for those of us who are not Gibberish, or Irish. On second thought, never mind. Just tweak your meds a little, but don't stop takin' em. Until then, step away from the keyboard, get some fresh air, try a new hobby like talking to squirrels in a local park. We all will be better for it. Thanks.

Original article: Palin leaves office

Readerreader-'Palin - an heir to the legacy of William F. Buckley' ????

You truly are insane.

Corporatocracy Rules All

As long as the current system that allows corporations to buy votes (face it, that is what our "government" comes down to), no meaningful reform of any kind that threatens corporate profits will ever come to pass. Maybe term limits of 4 yrs house, 6 yrs senate might help a little, but I doubt it. I'm just sick of all politicians of all stripes; bastards one and all, fuck 'em.

Original article: When old white guys attack

Lindsey Graham is a preening fool who wants to be POTUS

Graham has never seen a television camera that he wouldn't trample his mother to get in front of. In regards to temperament problems, I suggest he take a moment for "personal reflection" concerning his zealous support for the biggest hothead in the senate in the last presidential election. He wanted to put a man in charge of our nuclear arsenal who has demonstrated an infamous anger management problem.

Palin has an unshakeable base

I could more easily understand Einstein's theory than how her supporters think. Here are some samples of what the other (less than)half has to say about her:

"Palin is smart as a fox. She is the new shining star on the hill. She has more smarts and common sense then all the people in Washington. You go girl."

"Palin makes Obama look like a absolute clown right about now."

This one is particularly scary-

"I would love to see a Palin/Bachman GOP ticket for 2012."

Read them for yourself:

Corporate property tax?

When I lived in SoCal in the 70's a real estate agent pointed out numerous big corporate headquarter hi-rises and said they paid paid no property taxes. He said that in the 30's and 40's the state wanted big insurance and bank companies to move their headquarters to Cal, so they offered to exempt them from property taxes in perpetuity. If true, I guess it wasn't such a good idea, chickens-home-to-roost-wise.

Original article: Dream big, Obama

Given the alternative...

...Palin a heartbeat away, and Getoffmylawn in the oval office, I'm OK with Obama, for now. Change takes time. I'm willing to give him some.

@Funkmaster Chris

"Too bad Dr. Tiller wasn't around when you were born. The world would be a much better place without vile, amoral woman who cares nothing about the sanctity of life walking around using up air."

So, you're in favor of abortions when the fetus might turn out to become someone you dislike? Makes perfect sense.

It's Racism, pure and simple

If Obama was the same man, did and said the same things, but was white, do you really think the level of vicious, slandering hatred spewed by wingnuts, even "main stream" fools like Hannity, El Fatso, etc., would be the same? Not a chance. What we're seeing is unprecedented.

Racists, racists, racists.

Guess it has a new meaning now.

@bilejones- Easy Money

Your "nasty little dwarf" comment about Robert Reich won me 10 bucks. I'd bet a wingnut friend of mine that someone would make a personal attack based on his physical stature within the first 10 posts on Reich's article, "It's a depression." Thanks pal, you just made it under the wire. Easy money.

Original article: The poetry of Glenn Beck

Editor's note: The following poems are transcribed verbatim from Beck's broadcasts.

I'm astounded by the number of people here who seem to think Beck sat down with pen and paper and wrote these "poems." It's just transcriptions of his idiotic blithering blatherings on radio or tv put into verse form.

You might try reading past the headline of the article. Your post is off-target by a wide margin.
